About Brenda Harp
I loved Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park so much after my first visit in 1994 and visited often with family and friends. After a few years I wanted to invest in the area and purchased my first two homes in 1999. In 2001 another property with two homes was added and two more built the following year. Since then I have managed the properties and hosted many groups of families and friends. Having worked for Hewlett Packard for 21 years in sales and account management I had developed a passion for excellent customer service. This business enables me to combine my love for working with clients and my interest in Real Estate I inherited from my dad. I actually am involved with providing a wonderful home base for my guests to enjoy the wonder that is Acadia National Park with their friends and family. Very gratifying are the number of repeat guests and the experiences all have shared about how my homes were part of their wonderful vacation experience. I have to say my favorite part is to interact with guests and after providing details directions and area information end the conversation with "Enjoy!"

Why Brenda Harp chose Bar Harbor
After buying my first properties we had the opportunity to have dinner at the Post and Beam. It was owned by friends and upon visiting I fell in love. I felt if I could enjoy this home and provide guests this experience I would truly be a fortunate person. Shortly the home went on the market and the journey began.

A great place to retreat for rest and relaxation after spending the days at Acadia, in Bar Harbor, or any other adventures. The house is amazing, spacious, clean, with plenty of room for our party of four adults and one Border Collie. The house is centrally located for many adventures, Hadley Point is right down the street for an awesome sunset or romp on the beach, and lobster dining across the main road with ice cream a short drive away. The house had plenty of supplies in the kitchen and a grill outside for a barbecue, plenty of fans to keep cool, and a comfortable living room for relaxing. Check in and out was extremely easy. Would love to rent this house again when we come back to Maine.
So quiet, restful, comfortable for our family of 2 grandparents, daughter and young boys, and son, wife, infant. Room to come together for meals and family time in open great room with gorgeous views. And room to retreat for rest time. We loved the birdsongs and watching the tide rise and fall, boats going by, colors change. Simply wonderful!
A Fabulous Visit to Maine!
It was a beautiful April in Maine. The accommodations were wonderful and perfect for our group. It was close to town , close to Acadia but away from it all. We enjoyed the sunroom looking out over the water. The house is comfortable in any weather and the fireplace was awesome! Comfy beds, very clean and lots of room. We will definitely be back. We can't wait!
Great place, views and location
We loved the property. It was well-maintained, spacious, wonderful of the bay, fun walk down to the rocky beach, secluded, etc.
Location was close to town and the park.
Beautiful home, wonderful location, great owner
The Post & Beam Home is the picture perfect vacation home in the ideal location. We've rented this house four times over the past 15 years, and each time we've had an absolutely delightful vacation. The home is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, and the design is exactly what you'd hope for in a Maine waterfront home, with a soaring cathedral ceiling, exposed natural beams, and gorgeous views of the water. The layout is excellent, with some really nice touches -- e.g., half of the porch is enclosed, which means you can enjoy the morning fog without the chill; and there's a study (with printer) in the second floor loft, in case you have to do a bit of work on vacation. The owner is very responsive and has done a terrific job of keeping the home in tip-top shape. The owner retains an excellent cleaning crew -- the home has always been spotless when we arrive. The bedrooms have a lot of storage space, with lots of drawers and closet space, which is nice for a week-long stay. Also, the owner is very generous with the things that make a stay more comfortable, like a dozen extra towels in each bathroom, plenty of extra toilet paper, a fresh roll of paper towels in the kitchen, etc. -- simple conveniences that make a difference. The home is a 12 minute drive to the nearest entrance to Acadia National Park, where there's amazing biking and hiking, and maybe another 5 minutes or so into Bar Harbor for shopping and dining. Or you can pick up the LL Bean bus at the end of the street, about a quarter mile walk from the end of the driveway; the bus makes stops just about anywhere you'd want to go. The rental cost isn't cheap, but each time we've stayed here the vacation has been great and memorable. Beautiful home, great waterfront setting, perfect architecture for the location, easy access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, and a very responsive owner. There's a reason we keep coming back.
We are 12 minutes from Bar Harbor (8 miles) with its shopping and restaurants and 10 minutes to Acadia National Park, with plenty of
bike trails and hiking. The Bar Harbor and Mt Desert area is a wonderful place to vacation
with its rock-bound coast and soaring granite cliffs. From the
stonewall-lined and tree-covered road leading you into our village,
to the sweeping vistas from atop Cadillac Mountain, there is a special mystique to Bar Harbor. Nestled on the east side of Mt.
Desert Island, surrounded by Acadia National Park, we have welcomed visitors for over a hundred years. Bar Harbor and Acadia National
Park have a wide variety of offerings for visitors. There truly is something for everyone.
We offer a wide array of activities from the most relaxed to the most rigorous, dining for all tastes and budgets and shopping in our unique shops and galleries. Be sure to plan enough time to enjoy our area and consider using us as a base of operations to see all of Downeast Maine. We are only a short distance to other famous
attractions such as Campobello Island, Franklin Roosevelt's summer home, the Schoodic Peninsula, the mainland part of Acadia National
Park, and other islands, coastal attractions and nature based attractions. Once the summer playground of wealthy and famous
Americans, Bar Harbor was celebrated throughout the world as a
quiet, beautiful resort village, worlds away from the hustle and bustle of New York, Boston, and Paris. Today, the 'summer people'
still come to our island paradise, but many visitors also arrive for the brilliant fall foliage. And more and more, people are coming to
experience our winter wonderland and the surprises of spring.
