Kepuhi Beach Resort is an oceanfront resort located on Molokai's west end. Beautiful Kepuhi Beach is located directly in front of the resort and it is great for surfing in the winter months and perfect for swimming and snorkeling in the summer months. Just a short walk over the old golf course is the Papohaku Beach, which is the longest white sand beach in the State of Hawaii. It is unswimmable and very rough in the winter, but still awesome to walk along while shell hunting and taking in the amazing shore break. It does calm down in the summer months and is great for long ocean swims and snorkeling. A short walk brings you to Make Horse Beach with lots of little tide pools to enjoy. If hiking is your thing, there are many trails to explore on this side of the island, many of which lead you to beautiful remote beaches that you will have all to yourself!
The resort is about a 10 minute drive to Maunaloa town where there is a small market open daily until 5PM. It takes about 15 minutes to get to and from the airport and the town of Kulalapu'u, which is located near the airport. In the town of Kualapu'u, there is a restaurant called the Cook House and the local coffee plantation, Coffees of Hawaii which has a coffee bar, complimentary Wi-Fi and a few gift shops. The main town on the island is Kaunakakai and is about a 30 minute drive. This is where most of the markets, art shops, gift stores, restaurants and tour companies are located. This is also where the only two gas stations on Molokai are located. Take a drive to the lush east end of Molokai to see the beautiful scenery and wonderful beaches which are great for snorkeling. There is one store with groceries and a lunch counter on this side of the island.
There are many unique things to see and do on Molokai, but most are outdoors. Molokai is mostly about entertaining yourselves and enjoying nature, although Hotel Molokai on a Friday Night is entertaining all in itself! Come see, Come stay!
