Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 8 Sleeps

Located on Techumseh Island, Indian Lake. This property is on

one of Ohio's largest lakes and is an outstanding vacation

and pleasure resort and a fisherman's paradise. With 5,800 acres of

water and an area of approximately 13,000 acres of land and water

with an irregular, rugged, wooded shoreline of more than 29 miles,

it is one of the largest, most beautiful and most popular vacation

playgrounds in the midwest.

My home was built in the 1940's and sits on the north-east corner

of the island accessible by car over 'Dream Bridge'. For the early risers you will experience a fantastic sun rise as the water lays ripple free. The morning sun will bring the lake to life.

On the inside, the first floor includes a queen master bed room,1

full bathroom, kitchen dinning area, TV area, and a sun room with

fire place. Large windows and glass sliding door to look at the lake.

Upstairs you'll find a finished attic/loft with 2 separate rooms

containing 3 queen and one full size beds and a 1/2 bath.

My home can comfortably sleep 6-8. (1 queen in the master Bedroom

and 3 queen size & 1 full size beds upstairs).

The kitchen is complete with all needed utensils and dishes. It also

includes a large refrigerator, stove, oven, micro wave, and

dishwasher. Full size washer and dryer. Central A/C and a water softener.

Firewood is supplied for the portable fire pit and a gas grill.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for the use of your cottage. The girls enjoyed counting the light houses throughout the house. In case you were wondering there is 38 light houses in the bathroom alone. "Something for little girls to do on a rainy day".

Also, thanks for leaving the board games, cards, and puzzles. It created some quality family time.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed it. Much fun. Kids swam and fished off the deck. There was plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. We spent a lot of time on the outdoor patio , used the gas grill, and ate at the patio table. We would do it again. A lot of fun. Thanks for a great getaway.

Very nice rental for the money.

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed here probably 4 times overall. In the past we have had Wi-fi which is nice with 4 young adult girls and my husband who works from home at times. We were disappointed to find out this time that the wi-fi is no longer available. The location is premium and firewood provided is nice. The queen bed mattress in the master bedroom needs replaced. This rental has nice A/C which on hot days on the lake, was well appreciated . Fairly decent rental for the money.

Owner's Response: I am always happy to have repeat renters for the 4th time. Having rented my home for 14 years, I keep doing it at a reasonable price, because of quality renters who are building family memories. Speaking of memories, I have never had Wifi in my lake house. My old fashion opinion is that vacation is for a week or so, and families need to re-connect during this time, away from being plugged into the net. There is ample cell tower coverage in the area for must have hot spotting. I know the Ohio summers are hot, so that is why each spring I have the Heat and air-conditioning units serviced I will definitely address the queen mattress situation with my property manager and get it taken care of. Thanks for your imput.

Not fancy but had everything there to use (other than the sheets and blankets).

Nice Location and we had a great time visiting with our family. We enjoyed participating in the "Ring of Fire." There was a corn hole game that was played often.

It is listed as a home with three bedroom and one and one half bathrooms. The upstairs half bath does not have a door on it and the wall only goes up part of the way so it really was not used much. The bedrooms upstairs were not separated by a door so more like a loft.

Owner's Response: I take great pride in my property and have had it available for rental for the past 10 years. It is on a great location and water front (not on a channel) and yes it is not "fancy", but the price is also reasonable. My rental rate is equal to the cost of a nice hotel room that sleeps 2 , but I provide enough beds for a family of 8. The upstairs is an attic area that has been finished very nice, including it's own a/c unit and 1/2 bath. There is no door separating the rooms, so that the A/C air can circulate around. If you are looking for complete privacy, this is not the rental for you.

Great Location and a Good Value

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation and GREAT weather. We rented a fishing boat for the week and enjoyed using the dock. We had a problem with the gas grill and the cottage's maintenance person arrived within an hour to access the problem. We had a new grill installed by 10 am the next morning in time for our planned lunch for 12 people. Great customer service! Two of our guests said they will rent this cottage next year because of this experience.

Owner's Response: Reviews like this one are the reason I continue to rent my lake home. The vast majority of my renters are gracious, courteous, respectful of my property. My property sells out in early spring of every year since 2005 when I started renting. I treat my guest as I would want to be treated and try and resolve all issues expeditiously.

Great property.

We loved our stay. We will return if our schedule allows. Nice pier for boats and great views of the lake. This property is perfect for being out of the wind and the waves are limited.
