About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Killashandra Cottage: Summertime makes lasting memories. The classic beach home is located across the street, (about 100 feet) from the crimson sands of family friendly Chapman Beach. Water views of Long Island Sound from all rooms and the front porch. Chapman

Beach is quiet and private, a place families return to year after year.

Swim, snorkle, kayak or read 'beach books' and work on your tan. In the

evening take a stroll, bike or jog the beach roads or just sit in a

rocking chair on the front porch and wait for Daisy, 'the ice cream

lady' to come by. Sound too quiet? You can find plenty of night life

here also. The casinos are a 30 minute drive away. Plus there are great

restaurants in the area, some like the 'Gris' offer music and

In the 'off-season' listen to the sounds of the

sea and enjoy the solitude of the beach.

When summer is done, the Connecticut shoreline settles into the atmosphere of small New England town. It is a time when we can offer either a week or long week-ends for rent. it's a great spot to paint, write or work alone, or to reminise with college chums, or join up with friends for a shopping week-end.

The local pubs are good places to meet old friends and

new. If you must leave for the day there is an Amtrak train station in town

providing easy access to NYC or Boston.

Killashandra Cottage is a nice place to stay anytime of year..

Perfectly wonderful, Don't hesitate on this one!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in the cottage. It was perfect, clean and neat and had everything you may want. Better than a hotel!

Right across from the beach, we loved it.

We sat on the porch and had a lovely view of the water.

Lots of antique shopping and restaurants nearby, especially a restaurant at the train station was fun for the kids, they loved it.

Plenty to do nearby.

The owner , Linda, was very acommodating and accessible.

We would definitely return

Fall visit to Killishandra

  • 5 of 5

Friends visiting here from Germany found Killashandra on the internet and invited us to join them for a long weekend this fall. Needless to say, the house is gorgeous, well designed/decorated, spotless, spacious, close to the beach, and has every amenity imaginable! There were 6 adults and a baby. With the three bedrooms, two bathrooms, den, living room, dining room, eat in kitchen, kitchen island, and porch there was more than enough room for all of us. It was so wonderful for everyone to be there together, share meals, enjoy the beach, go for walks, shop, go sightseeing and even take a dip in the ocean. Linda was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay!!

Owner's Response: I love the off-season guests... They are usually a mix of friends or former classmates who gather for a week-end to reconnect and share their lives and stories. It was a pleasure to welcome these visitors who came from Germany, London and New York for a long week end. They seemed so happy to spend time together and the baby was darling. We hope they will return again sometime. I am always amazed at how people find us ....but thanks to they do. Linda
