We look forward to hosting your stay in our Nation's Capital!
This rental was very nice and very clean. I had to contact owner one time and she was very nice and responded immediately. Was unable to take the metro as the closest stop was closed for routine maintenance during our entire visit. We used Uber and Lyft and were very happy with the service and price from this location.
The drawback for us was the neighborhood. People were outside making a lot of noise until the wee hours of the morning. One morning we were outside waiting on Uber and a lady drove by and told us there was something going on in the alley one street over and we should probably go in. We did see what it was as they came past our house. It was a couple fighting and she was hitting him with a stick and screaming at him. When we were inside we didn't have any problems but we decided we probably wouldn't have walked to metro anyway because of the neighborhood. Just a few streets toward town neighborhood is markedly better- perhaps it's moving this way.
This was a great place to stay. Plenty of room for two large families on spring break. It was near to downtown so it was cheap and easy to Uber anywhere you needed to go. After a long day of walking around Washington DC we ate in most nights and felt very safe. The owners were very nice and accommodating. I would recommend staying here.
The place was great. Even better then described. The neighborhood looked a little sketchy at first but I never felt unsafe. We sat out on the front porch in the evenings and didn't have any problems. There is ample parking. A grocery store is nearby so you can do your own cooking if you like. The couch is super comfortable. We didn't use the public transportation but we certainly could have since it was conveniently located as well. I would stay there again.
Not the greatest neighborhood but the condo is terrific and we had no problems in the area. Well equipped and plenty of parking. Updated in every way and ample secure parkiing. Metro and bus conveniently located nearby. All three generations enjoyed the stay. Highly recommend this hidden jewel!
Property was as described, open layout made it feel spacious, amenities were fine. The L-shaped living room couch was comfy and had room enough for 4 people to nap on it. We had no problems with cleanliness. Had plenty of sleeping options. Restroom on each level. Had off-street parking and a nice back sun porch. A/C worked fine. Had no difficulties with the neighborhood, however, often there were people out on the street corners that made me somewhat cautious and I would probably not walk alone at night. Grocery store 4 minute drive away. Metro not far - 15-20 walk, or 5 min drive. Property Manager responded in a timely fashion and answered our questions.
All in all, a decent place to stay. Areas of improvement that I'd recommend, but not so much that I wouldn't return, are: available hand towels for the bath rooms, oven mitts, more kitchen towels and dish rags, ceiling fans in all the bedrooms (I think there was just one), one bedroom did not have a tv, and pillows were the foam type so were a bit hard to sleep on. The lower level bedroom mattress sank in the middle and could stand to be replaced and the futon mattress was fine if placed on the floor, but on the frame it sat crooked (the metal frame had a dent causing it to be uneven).
We recommend The White Apron deli for lunch (near Ford's Theater) and Rosa Mexicana for a nice dining experience.
I stayed with 9 friends for about a week. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the house is actually bigger than what I thought reading the add, accomodating ten persons with a lot of room left.
The whole place is clean, functionnal (the kitchen is perfect) and the living room is quite pleasant. Not a single bad surprise, and I am under the impression that the cost is very cheap given the quality.
My only concerns would be that one the room tended to be a little cold at night, requiring extra blankets. Also - but this is extrememy minor - the fire alarm is super sensitive, so leave the windows open when cooking for ten.
The neighbourhood is fine, you will need a ride to go shopping but it is safe enough (I went for some runs in the area and did not feel threatened at any point) and as quiet as it gets.
Should I do another trip to D.C, I would certainly come here again.
