For Garden Lovers: Cossington Park's own gardens have some interesting features:
• An old and extremely rare species of Chinese Elm, brought here by the Owner's ancestors from China, believed to be the only one of its type and age in the UK (the UK's most eminent tree experts have been unable to match it exactly to any known species)
• A wide variety of old English apples trees
• Several ponds with great crested newts
• Rare cowslips
• A fine clump of lime trees
In addition there are many gardens open to the public within a day's visit from Cossington Park.
My name is Lorraine Bentley and I manage the marketing and guest care for the Owner Graham Wason. Cossington Park is his ancestral home and much loved. He now lives in Denmark and London but regularly visits Cossington Park. He reinvests any income back into the property to preserve it for future generations.
Lorraine Millward purchased this chateau / country house in 1600

Unique location on the Somerset Levels. Surrounded by stunning scenery and close to Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury, Wells and Burnham on Sea.
The moment we walked through the garden gate we were enchanted. We had all checked out the website photos and we were not disappointed! The gardens were beautiful and we couldn't believe how vast the property was. We were impressed by the charm and warmth of Cossington Park and couldn't wait to explore it's rooms and treasures and to get to get acquainted with our bedrooms for the week!
We were so lucky with the weather the sun shone for most of the week and although we did venture out on a couple of occassions we made the most of the gardens and grounds and barbecue facilities.
We had arranged for an Archery session for 16 members of the group and Cossington Park provided an ideal setting for this. It was a hugely successful morning well worth booking.
Our ages ranged from 10 months to 77 years and every single one of us the best time. We walked, played croquet, ball games and just had some real old family fun with no need for electronic gadgets.
We recommend Cossington Park 100% You will be missing out on a fantastic experience if you don't visit!
Quite simply this is a beautiful house with stunning grounds. Wouldn't have changed a thing about our stay. Everyone had a wonderful time.
