Deceptive Listing
First, the house was not clean. When I say "not clean" it had definitely not been cleaned as described in the Cleaning Practices section of the listing. There were dirty dishes on the counter and in the dishwasher, used coffee grounds in the coffee pot, dirty counters, bathrooms, and even food on the carpet in the living room.
Mike, the host, offered to get the carpets cleaned, as long as I cleaned the property out of my own pocket, time and resources, in lieu of the refund of my cleaning fee. There were not enough cleaning supplies available to clean the house. The vacuum cleaner did not work, the faucet in the kitchen did not work for over 3 weeks. The bathroom faucet leaked the whole time I was there.
The pictures and listing for this property are not accurate. The furniture and carpet is not only old; there are large stains on the living room furniture. The dining room furniture is not the same as the pictures. All of the furniture is very cheap and uncomfortable. One of the dining room chairs was broken and fell apart when I tried to move it.
The listing says pets are welcome, but only pets under 35 pounds, and mine is 120, of which I asked for verification. I didn't find out that was going to be a problem until my neighbor told me.
I cannot recommend this place. The neighborhood was awesome, including the neighbors and the location, but the house itself was really uncomfortable and desperately needs to be updated. It was not a great, pre-paid, 3-month experience.
