About this property

This peaceful cabin offers 2 bedrooms: One with a queen sized bed and the second with 2 sets of bunk beds. It sleeps 6 comfortably. We have a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. A long deck and screened in porch on the front of the cabin offer views of the lake, the woods and often a deer or two. There is an outdoor shower for the adventurous types. A large outdoor fire pit is perfect for evening campfires and roasting marshmallows. The cabin is located on the north end of Madeline Island, about 8 miles from La Pointe. It is a short 3 mile drive or bike ride to beautiful Big Bay Beach and Town Park.

Quiet Getaway with Family

this cabin is perfectly located with a beautiful view I lovely sounds of nature. Screened in porch was a great place to hang out with family and say boy games or eat dinner. The hosts were very quick to respond to many questions we had. They are a very friendly couple. Loved how close it was to Big Bay Town Park and their amazing beach.

Peaceful stay

We had a peaceful stay at Sowls Cabin! It was just perfect for us! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay memorable! The owners were kind and responsive to anything we needed or any questions we had! Perfect!

About the host

Hosted by Jon and Judi Sowl

We met on Madeline Island the summer of 1980. Judi grew up here and met Jon when he spent the summer here working. We were married on the island 4 years later and have spent many summers and vacation time here. Our three grown children have many wonderful memories of times spent at the cabin. We both have family on the island and in Bayfield. We now live in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and visit the island as often as we can.
