About this property

TOCCOA RIVERFRONT HOUSE-FISH/KAYAK/TUBING ! ESCAPE TO THE MTNS!

Bord D'eau, which is French for "Beside the Water" and is pronounced Bordeaux like the wine, is a charming, upscale, beautifully situated cabin located just 50 feet from the edge of the pristine Toccoa River. One of the many unique feature of this cabin is that not only it is located on one of the river bends allowing for viewing down the river from the East and West side it is easily accessible by foot for fly fishing or paddling down the river. This custom built cypress wood sided cabin seats on 1.1 acres of a well maintained, shaded tree lot that is very park like. There's plenty of room for family outdoor activities in the grassy lawn areas. This unique property gives you a feeling of privacy and comfort but not seclusion as it's only 10 minutes to the city of Blue Ridge which has a great supermarket, Ingles along with many unique shops and restaurants. The Bord d'eau River House has a spacious floor plan with an open downstairs kitchen and dining area which connect to the living area with its floor to roof expansive open space. The custom built gourmet style kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and has a gas burning stovetop with a vented hood. There are two bedrooms downstairs which share a bath. The Master Bedroom suite located upstairs with its own bathroom and outside private porch area which offer wonderful river views. You'll enjoy lounging and eating on the large 300 sf screened porch that looks out over the river. There's also room for additional seating on the open deck on the entry side of the cabin. Outside, guests will find themselves on the expansive dock that hangs over the river's edge while enjoying the cool early evening air with an aperitif of their favorite beverage and snacks. Also, many memories will take place reminiscing around the fire pit late into the evening hours.
During the growing season, you will find blueberries and flowers growing in the garden areas. The water supply for the cabin comes from a deep water artesian well located in the "outhouse" building in the front yard.

Bord d'eau is located in a small subdivision of upscale homes mostly comprised of vacation or second homes. The entry road to the cabin is private so there is never much outside traffic coming into the area. With access to the property being on paved roads all the way to the cabin's road, there should be no worries about driving on challenging mountain roads. Located just five miles north of Blue Ridge, GA, at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Bord d'eau River House is where you will experience the beautiful serenity of nature yet all the wonderful amenities of home. This property has 150 feet of River frontage, located on the Toccoa river the #1 trout river in Georgia. This home is a beautiful 4 bedrooms and 3 baths when you include the guest suite. You will find all the comforts of home so just pack your bags and come enjoy this wonderful vacation home away from home.

The Toccoa River itself is a federally protected waterway which flows north into Tennessee where it becomes the Ocoee River. Only a 30 minute drive north will take you to the River launch site on the Ocoee River for some exhilarating White Water Rafting. The Toccoa River has a healthy population of both Rainbow Trout and German Brown Trout which can be caught although we recommend a catch and release policy in order to maintain a health level of fish in the River ecosystem. There is easy access to the river with the depth being no more than wading level depths at most times.
NOTE: ONLY 1 DOG ALLOWED PET FEE $150

1st family trip with toddler
We booked a stay for spring break with our 20 month old son. We absolutely loved our stay here. The pictures do not do it justice! When you turn the corner and see the river flowing its pretty incredible. Our son loved the large front yard while we enjoyed the deck and swing by the river. Place was spotless and had everything we needed. We've already talked about another trip here when its summer time.

Why they chose this property

This charming river house sits on a beautiful lot without any houses on either side or behind it....this private setting is rare and allows for total relaxation in a most comfortable environment.

One feature that is certainly worth mentioning is that our water supply for the entire house and garage comes from our own Artesian Well. This 600' well provides the cleanest natural drinking water available so no need to bring extra bottled water.

With all the amenities you could want, it's the perfect place to get away from it all without giving up any comforts.

What makes this property unique

There is a rocky "fish trap" in the river behind the house which provides the soothing sound of gently flowing water that can be enjoyed from the large Deck overhanging the river.
Also the sunsets can be beautiful while looking downriver from the deck. Interacting with the passing boaters and floaters is always fun too. And of course the fishing for trout from the back yard is always available. The river gets stocked with trout several times a year so there is always an abundance of fish.
