Why Anne Williams chose Newry
In one word, the View. It has unobstructed gorgeous mountain views and is a very relaxing retreat with lots of space for your own privacy. A main floor that allows for entertaining and dining in a unique gourmet kitchen. Three master suites provide privacy and tranquility for adults and the basement is suited for many children or perhaps a family.
What makes this Chalet unique
The main floor kitchen has a very large u-shaped island which can seat at least 10. This is the central focus for the home. Also the very large custom windows were designed and placed to provide postcard-like endless mountain views.

Property is beautiful, very well maintained, plenty of space, and incredible view of the mountain!
This is our second stay at this home, and just like the first time, it was perfect. We had 10 extended family members for a ski vacation. Lots of room for everybody, with ample gathering space for everyone to get together. Owner Anne is a true pleasure to deal with, and we couldn’t be happier about our stays at this home. Already thinking about next year’s trip . . . .
Incredible home for a luxurious ski vacation.
Anne's property was the nicest home we have ever rented. Words don't do justice to how beautiful the home is and how perfect it is for a trip to Sunday River. There were three families on the trip, 6 adults and 6 kids, and the space was perfect with room to spare. Plenty of sanity for the parents this trip thanks to the lower level bunk room, living room and dining area for the kids. It was awesome that each queen bedroom had a private bathroom and that the kids had their own downstairs.
Being only a few minute drive to Sunday River was a huge plus as we like to drag our feet in the morning. The view was incredible, and the hot tub was a great way to end the nights after a long day at the slopes. Our group has been trying different homes and mountains each February vacation but we have found a permanent home for our annual trip!
The home was spectacular! The kitchen had a comfortable area for watching the meal being prepared and eating together. The hot tub was a real treat after canoeing down the river. Great area on lower level for teens.
Spacious, comfortable and clean w/ great views.
Our group of 10 was completely comfortable. We enjoyed skiing at Sunday River and Mount Abraham, as well as nordic skiing at the Bethel Inn, and a raucous dinner at The Matterhorn.
Amazing vacation home for families!
This is a beautiful, spaceous, perfectly laid out home! We joined another family to spend the weekend and ski, and it was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space for adults and kids to sleep and hang out. Beautiful kitchen that was easy to use and invited people to hang out together in. So close to South Ridge parking lot, and an awesome hot tub with beautiful views, to relax in after a long day of skiing. You can't beat this- looking forward to returning soon.
We had a wonderful time staying at this house. The open concept layout of the house was perfect for our group. The kitchen has a huge inviting center island that is open to the living room. This entire space was very well designed and the furniture was extremely comfortable. The views from each and every room were extraordinary. The jacuzzi on the deck, over looking the mountain was the icing on the cake. The house was clean and well kept and we would definitely recommend others to stay at this residence. Also, the owners response time to us was impressive and their professionalism and hospitality certainly did not go unnoticed.
Sunday River Resort and the surrounding area have activities year round. Skiing (Alpine & Nordic), snowshoeing and snowmobiling make the winter special. In the fall and summer, hiking, biking, fishing and golfing are all enjoyable seasonal activities. In a New England setting, the area is active and vibrant with outdoor activities throughout all the seasons.
For the summer, the Sunday River Resort comes alive with lifts that take you to the top. Hike, bike or zip line down the hill. Streams for kayaking, canoeing. Falls and swimming holes and some of the best fishing in the state. And regenerate at sunset in the hot tub. Antique shops, along with quaint inns and open cafes allow for day away from the standard activities. And for families, Santa's Village and Story Land are less than 45 minutes.
Summer and Fall are special as well with canoeing, kayaking, road and mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and an event or fair of some kind close to the valley. To add a little bit of variety, a little more than 30 minutes away is the Mount Washington Valley home to the infamous mountain. North Conway with its outlets and access to the mountain for the train or car climb to the top of the second highest peak east of the Rockies provides all kinds of thrills. And less than 90 minutes will allow you to enjoy the fabulous coast for the day either in Freeport (home to LL Bean) or Portland with wonderful cobblestone streets on the water, full with fine dining and shops. Just a few miles further will take you to picturesque Camden & Rockport.
