Only 2.5 miles (8 minutes) south of Breckenridge (Crown Subdivision). Great views to the east of Baldy Mountain. Super cozy with bay windows, open floor plan (sleeping areas are separate but bedroom areas do not have doors, see photos), 3/4 and 1/2 bath, in floor radiant heat , sky lights, great views, sunny, a perfect getaway for couples and families. 1,000 sq. ft. furnished/linens/down duvets, porch with views off of kitchen, 1 car garage. 1 acre property. No cats. No pubic transportation, 4 wheel drive, front wheel drive in winter.
Sleeps 4-6 adult persons (Downstairs: 1 queen, 1/2 bath, Upstairs: 1 queen, 3/4 bath and one comfortable full futon mattress that can be placed on the floor of the great room or elsewhere). HiSpeed Internet WiFi. TV / cable for extra fee.
This house has been rented out for 12 years and most every guest loves the setting and the home. Great custom woodwork, walnut cabinets, in-floor heating. Feels like you are up in the trees. Sunny, south facing, and super cozy. The house rents quickly every winter with a 4/5 month lease to a family or group.
Our guests are very grateful that they can have their dog and not pay the high prices of typical Breckenridge and Summit County. We value charging less for a good rental.

Important to note: house is located on a locally maintained dirt road. Occasional potholes and must have four-wheel/ all wheel-drive during snowy months. Driveway is flat and also plowed. No dishwasher. House layout is very open with visual privacy between each sleeping area. No doors on the bedrooms, see photos.

Wonderful Cozy Cabin in an Amazing Location
Holly and Steve’s home is cozy and comfortable nestled in the pines of a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful views, lots of wildlife, nice neighbors and extensive hiking trails. It is located just minutes from town for dining out, groceries and shopping but far enough away to have peace and quiet. My husband, our well-behaved dog Scout and I stayed for a month and simply loved it. We brought our mobile office with us so we were happy to find that they have an excellent WiFi connection which is not always the case in the mountains! As hosts, Holly and Steve were great! They have the house stocked with everything we needed and provided simple, clear instructions for our stay. I did have a few questions from time to time and Holly was quick to respond. We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to stay in such a unique and wonderful place and look forward to coming again back next year if not sooner!

Great little hidaway
This cabin is in a great location, not too close but not too far from town. It was very well kept and well appointed, and you can't beat the view from the side porch! Highly recommended!

Our house up in the trees for a month!
Beautiful smaller house in a very quiet woodsy part of breckenridge. Holly and Steve for very responsive to all our needs. We loved this experience so much that we bought our own house just around the corner. We aware that the drive up gets steep just before the house--probably requires four wheel drive during winter season. Highly recommend this vacation rental!

About the host

Host profile image
Steve and I bought this property in 1993 when we first met while living in Summit County. It was a vacant lot and we thought about building a large home and garage. Well, we never built the huge house, and we turned the 3 car garage space into a cabin with one garage space. The layout is unique for this reason. The property grew with us and became our mountain retreat that brought us together with our growing family. Steve built the cabin with his brother and brother in law and added many unique touches. Everyone in the family contributed and has enjoyed this space.

Why they chose this property

This property has amazing access to a beautiful, lesser known area of Summit County just south of Breckenridge up against the Ten Mile Range and Mosquito Range for hiking, backcountry skiing, ice climbing, Tenth Mt. Huts, and killer mountain biking. It's close enough to ski to Peak 9 chair lifts on a crispy powdery morning (30-45 min on the Burrro Trail) and sneak into town to enjoy the pleasures of Breck without the stress of too much traffic and people.

What makes this property unique

People love the view to the south while being snuggled up in the trees. Wildlife: moose, fox, chipmunks, birds, lynx.
