Wonderful 100+ year old cozy cottage on quiet street 2 blocks from downtown Prescott. Walk out the front door, turn right, walk two blocks and you will run into the courthouse square, where you will find great shopping, art galleries, restaurants, Whiskey Row bars, and all of the great events that Prescott is famous for. This cottage is perfect for a couple or small family, with 1 bedroom with a queen bed, a sunroom with a chaise lounge and desk (wifi access) and living room with a comfortable sleeper sofa. The bathroom has been recently renovated with a large claw foot tub/shower and pedestal sink. The kitchen is charming and well equipped with an electric stove, frig, microwave and coffee bar. The front yard is private with lots of shade and a great front porch with a porch swing and table and chairs for outdoor dining.
I have lived in Prescott since 1995 and can't imagine living anyplace else. I live with my husband near downtown Prescott, own two vacation rental homes as well as several other full time rentals. I have been a Realtor since 2002 and especially love to specialize in selling historic homes in the downtown area.
Karen Sowards purchased this cottage in 1996
Cute and cozy 100+ year old cottage with front porch & porch swing. Fantastic location, just 2 blocks from downtown, but on a quiet, lightly traveled street. Very clean and nicely decorated.
Fenced front yard, off street parking, washer/dryer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. What drew it to us was the fact it is a fenced in, secure property. It was perfect because it had an enclosed front and side yard for our dog, who enjoyed being free to roam. We ate dinner outdoors on the little bistro table, enjoying the cool weather, clean surroundings and easy cleanup in this quiet neighborhood. People walking by seemed very friendly. The owner's friend who was on the property site, taking care of bedsheets for us, even joined us in a glass of wine the first night. The outdoor area includes a nicely decorated porch swing and two comfortable chairs which we used daily. The inside of the cottage was decorated in a nice country motif that was very appropriate for the area. Bed was nice and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of clean dishes and utensils. Coffee and tea are provided. The cottage is conveniently located to the downtown area which has plenty of restaurants. We especially enjoy Cuppers since it has a dog friendly outdoor area and good food for breakfast and lunch. It's an easy drive to both the downtown area and Cuppers (or walk if you want a good workout since it's a steep climb). We would gladly stay again if the owner agrees to having us. We highly recommend this charming place!
It was a great location and an easy walk to Downtown shops and eateries. The cottage was decorated to the tee which could have been used in a photo layout on how to decorate your cottage. Like a Better Homes and Garden cottage. It had a very homey feeling like home away from home. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone that is staying in the Prescott area.
We really enjoyed our stay in Prescott. The cottage was great. Very nice and quite location. The place was clean and just as represented by the owner. The bed was very comfortable.
This small downtown cottage was great. Close and convenient. It is equipped with everything including a washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. One bedroom and one bath with a small bonus room. Nice television. Full size stove and refrigerator. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo.
Lovely cottage. Owner was very quick to respond when I let her know there was no bathroom tissue. Found a package on the front porch the next morning.
Besides the special features of an old house (slope in the floor(s)) and the lack of bathroom tissue, the house was lovely and well equipped for our stay. VERY comfortable bed and soft sheets!
On another note, I find it unsanitary to leave used soaps, shampoos, lotions for guests so those were left untouched by us. I was discouraged by the fact that my husband had to clean the bathtub before I used it, as it had grime hiding behind the shower curtains.
Would I visit that location again? Probably not, but don't let my opinion stop anyone from giving it a go.
One block off Gurley and just three from the Courthouse Square, the location is excellent. Just the right size for two, the house was clean and well-equipped, heat worked great, and we felt safe. Comfortable, not over-decorated, and quiet. Visited Prescott for the Christmas Parade and tree-lighting, thoroughly enjoyed the vacation!

Prescott is surrounded by National Forest with several great lakes, and many parks and hiking trails. It is a historic town with lots of old west history - old bars and restaurants, Victorian Homes and charm galore. Many fun events happen throughout the year, including arts and crafts fairs, the world's oldest rodeo (4th of July week), Christmas celebrations, and much more. We are also a short drive (about 2 hours) to the Grand Canyon, 1 1/2 hours to Sedona, 45 minutes to Jerome.
