Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms and a wonderful Heat Pump provides for both warmth or air conditioning! Fun, comfortable furnishings to make you feel right at home. Living room features a sectional sofa, two cute chairs and an electric fireplace. Also, a 40' Smart "ROKU" TV, NETFLIX- all available for FREE and games for adults and kids. Fun, functional kitchen with full size stove, dishwasher and refrigerator, microwave, toaster, pots/pans - dish service for 8, silverware for 8, wine glasses, water glasses - a fully stocked kitchen to cover most, if not all, of your needs. Two bedrooms, each with queen sized beds. The larger room has a wonderful custom iron bed with comfortable linens and great bedroom set with ample drawers and a small closet to store all your personal belongings. The lovely second bedroom with vaulted ceiling offers a queen size bed, with comfortable linens and a closet to store your personal belongs. The full size bathroom features a bath/shower combination, amazing water heater, towels, hand towels and a variety of wash clothes for you and your guests. Also included is a full size front loading washer and dryer, why go home with dirty clothes? The spacious yard is fully fenced, front and back, with small porch area with a patio set that has seats for 4. A darling fire-pit area with Adirondack Chairs for gatherings - for those wanting to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The house is steps away from Webster park, and just a few blocks away from Swains (which has everything), downtown Port Angeles, shops, grocery stores, and some restaurants. A short drive to numerous hiking/biking trails/Olympic Discovery Trail and Hurricane Ridge, just to name a few. Only a couple of blocks from the Black Ball Ferry, that takes you to the "Gateway to Canada" - Victoria, B.C. This is one of the best locations in town and may be the classiest cottage you'll find in the area! Cute, classy and comfy!

Quaint Cottage at Gateway to Olympic Natl Park

Perfect cottage for exploring the Olympic Natl Park and Pennisula. Easy drive to Sol Duc Hot Springs, Olympic Game Farm, and the Natl Park. With the firepit in back, I had Smores for the 1st time in 40 years. Fully enclosed front and back yards made controlling our 2 unruly dogs (you know, Corgies) a snap. Highly recommended.

Everything we needed and more!

The home is very cute and comfortable. The beds were better than most I have experienced. A good night's sleep and waking up without pain from a caved in mattress, is my pet peeve. So, I really appreciate that! It was too cold to use the yard, but it was great that there is a large but securable pet door. There is nothing, I would have changed. It was easy to cook in and even had a handheld shower head, which is good for those like me with limited mobility. It was located in a nice area and the park next door was lovely. We used the home, while we were there looking for a place to move, so I may not need to rent it again, but if I did need a place, I would check it's availability. Lurrie, Joseph and Yardley

Our new favorite place in Port Angeles

We really liked this house. It was warm and well lit and had comfortable spaces for lounging/dozing, working, reading, cooking and eating. The decor in so many rentals is all anodyne beige and cream and gray, and the color and personal touches here were pleasant and welcoming --- it was easy to be a human here. Very nice location close to businesses but on a quiet street dead-ending in a tall, dense tree stand. It was too cold for us to enjoy the backyard this visit but we'll probably come back.

I moved to Port Angeles in 2008 and sadly had to move in 2014 to be with my family (which isn't sad! Leaving Port Angeles was sad). I'm enjoy my life in California and love visiting my home and friends in Port Angeles - I am pretty lucky to have two great places to live!

Why they chose this property

I bought this house because I love it. I love the solidness of this little house which was built in approx. the 1920's and completely remodeled in 1999 (that's when the previous owner put in the cute cottage styled cabinets). I walked into this house and bought it within the hour. It has a peacefulness then, as it does now. The view of the trees from the kitchen windows are unobstructed which gives the impression of being more isolated and private, which I love. It is a warm, cozy place that I feel most people appreciate when they are in it. I only decided to put in on VRBO so when I come back to Port Angeles, I can stay here as well! I couldn't do that when it was a "standard" rental.

What makes this property unique

This "Oh Happy Day Cottage" is just that and I think sharing it with people coming to Port Angeles will want to make you all come back! I truly want every person who stays in my cottage to feel the same peacefulness that I feel and know I've done all I can to make it so for you. If you want one of the best locations in Port Angeles, this is the cottage for you.
