Great location and well maintained

  • 5 of 5

This unit is in a great location. Literally within sight of the Eastern Market Metro and the Eastern Market itself. Just around the corner from lots of restaurants. We were able to park right outside of the unit. Everything was clean and well maintained. The owner was very quick to respond to my emails prior to our trip. While there we didn't need to call about anything because everything was great. If we are in DC again, I hope this unit is available!

Great Place near the Capitol

  • 5 of 5

We had a recent visit with two teen-aged grandchildren. The location of this place could not be better. A block away are lots of good restaurants, and an organic food market. The subway is very close, and the Eastern Market, which during the week is a collection of food vendors, also is nearby. The capitol building and the Library of Congress are a short walk away. The neighbors are very nice and helpful, and Kirt is great. The apartment was spotless, and the space (approximately 15 feet wide by 50 feet deep) has been beautifully renovated. The kitchen was entirely comfortable for food preparation, and there is a spacious tiled shower in the bathroom. The bedrooms are small, but adequate with good closet and drawer space as well as places for luggage, along with a luggage rack. Lighting throughout along with good natural light (even though the lower part of the apartment is below ground) helps the place be bright and cheery. The only issue was the over-sensitive smoke alarm, which activates for a toaster setting that gives a dark brown (not black) toast. We followed the advice of others and opened the front door, and that indeed quieted the alarm.

Wonderful Graduation Weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Eastern Market Suites for our daughter's graduation last weekend. The apartment was tastefully decorated, and very clean. We immediately felt very comfortable with our surroundings. We have always loved the Eastern market neighborhood, and were excited to be able to stay there. Kirk was so helpful and provided everything we needed ahead of time. I would highly recommend this property.

An Oasis in DC!

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this cute brownstone!

Basics: This apartment is very clean, has updated appliances that are easy to use and has a nice homey feel. Each room has its own temperature control. Laundry detergent, garbage bags, coffee, and dishwasher soap were supplied.

Location:This apartment is literally a block from the Eastern Market Metro where you can catch a train or bus to anywhere in the city and surrounding areas. There are a multitude of fun restuarants a block away. Groceries, CVS, Starbucks are also super close.

Safety: We felt safe and secure when in the apartment and in the neighborhood.

Management: Kirk is the owner and is very quick to respond to questions. He had a parking pass in the apartment, with very little notice.

Decor: the furniture is modern, clean and comfortable.

Issues: very minor.....if I had any recommendation, it would be to add more pillows to the beds...also, the smoke alarm went off when we made toast and knew from other reviews to open the door to let in fresh air.

Overall: I give this wonderful place 5 stars. It felt like home.

Great property! Great location! Highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

First time with VRBO. Loved it. It all worked great and I did this at the very last minute. Kirk and his family had it all set up in 12 hours. Property is in a prime location on Capitol Hill. Easy access to Eastern Market metro stop. Eastern Market itself was a great market for food shopping (closed on Mondays though). The property is a ground level (garden) apartment, which is clearly stated in description, but I didn't pick up on this until I arrived. For a short term stay, however, that was a non issue. It is clean, up to date and very comfortable. Kirk provided an on street parking pass which allowed me to park literally right in front of the apartment. Be sure to ask for that. Overall great stay for my wife, 3 kids and me. Will likely come back some day soon!!!
