About Sam Christian
We are a young family of three born and raised in the Bluegrass state. Sam grew up on a farm in Frankfort and I grew up right in Chevy Chase just blocks from our house. We graduated from high school together here in Lexington and have a strong network of family and friends in the area. We love Lexington and all it has to offer. The thoroughbred industry is more than a business in this household, it's a passion. We bought this house before our daughter was born in 2014. After spending the first year of her life splitting our time between being in town in Lexington and on our farm in Frankfort, we decided that the farm living was what we wanted for our family. Not wanting to entirely give up our charming house in town we realized that short term rentals were a great solution. We have enjoyed sharing our home and introducing Lexington to our guests.
Sam Christian purchased this House in 2013
Why Sam Christian chose Montclair
We love Lexington and especially the older neighborhoods surrounding downtown. Lexington is our home and we are excited to share our piece of it with our guests.
What makes this House unique
The location and the yard had us sold on this house. It's rare to find a yard as large as ours in this area and the two massive Cucumber Magnolia trees just add to the appeal. We love and appreciate that most of the original charm and character of the house is still intact. The location is ideal for anything in town. Great restaurants and bars are minutes away. Just a short drive from downtown and easy access to all surrounding attractions such as Keeneland, The Horse Park, breweries, and bourbon distilleries.

Cute with Character
We where in town for a wedding and stayed here with a small group of friends. It is a charming home with plenty of space. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to cook a meal. The owners where very reachable and helpful. The location is very central and convenient to eating and shopping. I would definitely stay here again.
Great spot for Lexington visit
We traveled as a group of 5 for a guys weekend. The house wasn't fancy but was nice, very clean and in good order. The photos capture the place well. We aren't a picky bunch and it was perfect for us. We really enjoyed sitting on the screened-in back porch and very large back yard, a great place for a cocktail. There was plenty of space for all of us and the house is well located in a nice neighborhood close to the UK campus. We were able to easily explore the Lexington area including the university, downtown, distilleries and Keeneland and had a good time. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, cooking accessories and plates/bowls. Sam was a great host and gave us several solid recommendations including our dinner spot at the Merrick Inn and the nearby OBC.
Downsides are very limited.
1. The downstairs bathroom shower works fine but is oddly snug for a 6'3" guy.
2. The house is perfectly nice but rental price was just a wee bit on the high end for what the home delivered. That may have been due to the fact that we were there on the last day of Keeneland and frankly all accommodations in Lexington were quite expensive for the weekend.
I would definitely stay again and recommend.
Charming and spacious
My family really enjoyed our stay at this adorable and spacious home. Loved the back patio overlooking the beautiful backyard. We were also pleasantly surprised by all of the extra items found throughout the house to make our stay go smoothly. Would definitely recommend this over a hotel! So much more relaxing!
Charming 3 Br home very close to UK
We enjoyed the stay very much. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment for simple meals. Nice gas range. Beds very comfortable and nice linens. The three bedrooms are reasonablely private from each other. Big backyard- we were traveling with our 2 kids who enjoyed getting outside during downtime. I would definitely stay there again.
Great location, nice, clean property
The property was ample size for our 4 adults 5 small children. Owner was very responsive. Kitchen clean, well stocked. Driveway is rather narrow, with high walls around, that's maybe the only downside. The property is not new obviously, so there are minor things here and there that could be fixed up, but we don't sweat the small stuff :)
We didn't end up using the nice back yard as much as we thought we would, since there were plenty of things to do in Lexington. The arboretum at UK is nearly walking distance (we did walk!), but would recommend driving as you have to walk on the road at times otherwise. The horse farm is north of town and is a great place to visit as well (plan for a 2 day visit, as tickets are valid for 2 days).
Finally, the fastest way to get around is to use the circle road (rt 60), because otherwise you get stuck at every light driving cross-town.
Lovely well-kept, well-appointed home in a quiet neighborhood and convenient location.
We had a wonderful two night stay at the property. It was conveniently located to our destinations of Keeneland and the Bourbon Trail. The house is very clean and the yard is well-kept. We cooked breakfast and dinner and the kitchen was excellently equipped and laid out. A nice addition, however,
would be an insulated carafe to pour the coffee in after it brews in the Mr. Coffee. . We enjoyed our evening meals in the lovely dining room. The living room was comfortable for watching TV after a day of sightseeing and the den was a nice
place to read. The screened in porch and back yard
were beautiful, but it rained when we were there so we didn't put them to use. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were large with good towels. The two upstairs bedrooms share a bath. The upstairs bedrooms have window air conditioners because it gets a little warm upstairs even though there is central heat and air. The window air conditioners kept it cool. A hair dryer would have been nice. The one in the bathroom cabinet didn't work. We plan to stay here again.
Located in the heart of Lexington in the quaint Montclair neighborhood, this charming brick house is within walking distance to UK's campus and Commonwealth Stadium, and just minutes from downtown and Keeneland Racetrack. Whatever brings you to Lexington, this is a great location with easy access to the many attractions that Central Kentucky has to offer. Tour some of the world famous horse farms that are just minutes away, visit the Kentucky Horse Park, go hiking at Red River Gorge, explore the Daniel Boone National Forest, or sip on bourbon along the Bourbon Trail. Whether your interests are equine, outdoors, college sports, bourbon, or academic related, this location is perfect for you.
