An Exceptionally Wonderful Property!!

  • 5 of 5

I would put 10 stars if they had it. Saying that your home is exceptional doesn't even begin to describe your peaceful, amazing environment that you have created with the lovely patios that are so lush with blooming plants, birds, and the lovely music they produce all day long. We must have counted over 6-7 bird nests within sight and sound. Lizards, bunnies and little ground squirrels. Love the quail family, doves, and humming birds. I was raised in Arizona and it felt like home. Lovely outdoor spaces and wonderful inside art to see, comfortable beds, clean spaces and a well equipped home. Everything was quality. It's a relaxing home that you share and we thank you for the beautiful home you allowed us to experience. I hope to find a home in the area and hope to be able to produce a similar space for our home. Thank you for a lovely week. Judy

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

We traveled for ten days in New Mexico. We spent the first three days staying at Jan Fiala's charming hacienda in Corrales. Out stay was the best in the state. We have used HomeAway in Alaska and California and almost always have been satisfied, but our stay in Corrales was absolutely amazing. The home is beautiful, every room lovingly decorated and welcoming. Our host spared no expense. The kitchen is truly gourmet and well stocked for the traveler. Most of the rooms opened up to restful patios. We stayed three days but easily could have stayed a week. Highly recommend.

An excellent value, great hospitality, and a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed at Hacienda Fiala and were overjoyed with not only the accommodations but also with the hospitality. Jan, the owner, is friendly and welcoming. His knowledge of the local area was very helpful and added a lot to our travel experience. Hacienda Fiala was more than advertised, which in these times is very commendable and speaks volumes about the quality of the property and the owner.

We highly recommend Jan and Hacienda Fiala, and hope to get back again soon.

Wonderfull peaceful Hacienda

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a quite liad place. We found that and much much more.

The Host Jan and his loveable dog Argos were very friendly and helpful.

The Artistically Designed Home was more than we had hoped for and in such

a peacefull naborhood with lots to see. The view of the Sandia Mountains was

beautiful. The yard had many beautiful Flowers, there were Birds of many kinds

and Ribbits and ground Squirrels. There was lots of space in the house and

great place to sit an read or watch the Birds.

We hope to return many times in the comming years.

Synonymous with "Perfect"

  • 5 of 5

I travel the country and stay in many homes but I would have to say that this magnificent adobe was really like "being at home" The host, Jan, was cordial and his dog Argos was the best. I had my dog with me and the two of them hit it off spectacularly. The apartment area I stayed in was tastefully decorated and it was peaceful on the crisp spring mornings sipping my coffee on the balcony and looking out over the Sandia Mountains. I stayed there about three weeks and became good friends with the owner. Get him to make one of his awesome salads....you won't forget it. I would highly recommend this rental as a get away or a short term vacation.

The Village of Corrales is bordered on the east by the Rio Grande and, across the river, by the Sandia Indian Reservation. To the south is the City of Albuquerque while to the west and north is the City of Rio Rancho. To cross the borders into Corrales is to step into another time and place where the stresses of twenty-first century life give way to the grace and pace of another era.

Corrales aggressively strives to retain a rural lifestyle. Prehistoric sites indicate the Corrales Valley has been occupied as early as 500 A.D. when the ancestors of the present-day Indian Pueblos derived sustenance from the fertile valley. Subsequent populations, including Hispanic, European and American families, settled here to raise grapes, apples, and livestock. Today, Corrales is distinguished by its broad green pastures and orchards, its rich historic and artistic character, and of course the sounds and scents of roosters, cows, horses and sheep.

There are fiestas and harvest celebrations, wine tasting events, and traditional Hispanic and Native American dances and religious observances throughout the year. Two of Corrales' most historic buildings are available for viewing. Casa San Ysidro Museum s a 1650's estate that is now operated by the City of Albuquerque Museum. The Old San Ysidro Church (1850’s) is also a Southwest treasure not to be missed.

For outdoor activities Corrales Bosque Nature Preserve offers spectacular views over Rio Grande, Bosque and The Sandia Mountains in the background. There are multiple trails ideal for hiking, mountain biking, horse back riding, birds and wildlife viewing.

Close proximity to Albuquerque offers many attractions like: Old Town, Rio Grande ZOO, Rio Grande Botanical Gardens, Aquarium – ABQ Bio Park, Museums, Golf courses, Sandia Peak Tramway, numerous cultural events, restaurants with famous New Mexico cousin, live music and micro breweries.

Day trips to surrounding area include world wide renown locations like: Santa Fe, Chaco Canyon and Bandelier National Monuments, Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, Bosque Del Apache Refuge just to mention few.
