The Guesthouse is part of our large farm house. It is a private area on the second floor with two bedrooms, a sitting/dining area, and bathroom. We now have a small kitchen with stove/ oven, apt. size fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. We are located in the heart of Amish country in Lancaster County away from the hustle and bustle, where you will hear the sound of horse and buggies. A one room school house is next door and full of activity during school months with the neighborhood children. The towns of Intercourse and Bird-In-Hand are only 10-15 minutes away.

About Charlotte Wenger
As Mennonites, we have lived all but two years of our married life, and raised our four children here on the farm. My father-in-law Noah Wenger purchased the farm for my husband and I before we were married. We have enjoyed the beautiful view and wonderful farm life with our children, and now our twenty grandchildren who love to come and play on the farm. My daughters and daughter in law still love to come and walk the lovely, low-traffic roads.
Charlotte Wenger purchased this Farmhouse in 1980
Why Charlotte Wenger chose Ephrata
We raise chickens and steers, and overlook beautiful farmland. If you want the true experience of Amish Country, it's here! You could spend the day just sitting on the front porch overlooking the meadows, and watching the Amish and Mennonite neighbors living life, and traveling the road. If you like to walk, jog, or ride bike, you'll enjoy the back roads with very little traffic.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Wengers were great hosts. They were friendly and pleasant. The home was tastefully decorated with everything we could possibly need and want. Our kids really enjoyed our stay they loved the dog Lucy. We would definitely stay here the next time we are in the Lancaster area.
Beautiful farmhouse in heart of Amish and Mennonite country.
Wonderful 2 bed/ 1bath (queen beds) + small kitchen and living area upstairs apartment. Bedrooms very roomy and bath also. Very comfortable beds. Hosts live in the home and are very nice and very hospitable. Quiet and peaceful experience. We had 3 adults on our trip. Be sure to bring your GPS to navigate the farmland! Home is off the main highways but isn’t that fun!!
Wonderful place and even better people!
Staying on the farm is relaxing beyond measure and Charlotte and Elvin are two of the warmest people you are likely to meet. This is truly beautiful country.
Peace and comfort
We could not have asked for a more perfectly located and situated home to stay in. It is close enough, but not too close to the places we wished to visit. We LOVE traveling back roads and taking in the gorgeous landscape filled with farms. It was a lovely drive to some of our favorite places. We went to see "JESUS" at Sight and Sound, which was phenomenal. Kauffman's, which sells hot apple cider donuts and freshly picked apples, and all manner of goodness. Stoltzfus Produce, which was brim full of the most amazing fall harvest fruits and vegetables. Fisher's, which sells housewares at the most reasonable prices. And we went to Bird in Hand to the bakery and to an antique shop.Though the living space is attached to the owner's residence, you have complete privacy and quiet. The home is immaculately clean and so beautifully decorated. The original home, which you stay in, dates back to the 1700's. Gorgeous. There is a wonderful loop of roads to take in an afternoon walk, seeing a stream, fields, cows, and farms on route. We didn't have one want or wish that was not fulfilled at this home. I highly recommend it. Charlotte and Erven are the most hospitable host.
We were interested in farm life in the area and Charlotte and Elvin were very knowledgeable hosts. The appt is clean, spacious and very comfortable with all we needed. The comings and goings at the school next door was an additional attraction. Thanks for a lovely stay and we plan to return.
Beautiful and relaxing
Thank you for a wonderful time we enjoyed it so much. We cant wait to go back.
Enjoy the drive through beautiful farmland! We're located off the beaten path, and only fifteen minutes from the Amish country of Intercourse and Bird-In-Hand. Take a peek in the chicken house on our farm, and maybe even pet a steer. Relish the view of cattle grazing in the meadow, and the horse and buggy traffic traveling down the road. There is a one room school house located beside our home. During school months, watch Amish and Mennonite children at play as you sit in our back yard. You'll experience the culture as you travel the neighborhood and savor the view from the front porch.
