About this property

A small, cozy, lakefront cottage is ready to be your perfect, peaceful retreat just 7 miles south of Mackinaw City. The original knotty pine walls add to the charm of this cottage built in the early 1940s. Updates have been made to the technology (TV & WiFi), bathroom, and kitchen to make your stay convenient and comfortable.

The lake is shallow, refreshing and clear! If you’re an angler- ask about a spot at our dock! Use our kayaks or float toys to connect with water or play in the large yard. There is lots of room to play or lots of ways to rest, including chairs and a hammock. If you’re a cook, there is no better dinner than the one you can cook outside on the grill and eat at the lakeside picnic table. At night, the fire pit is the best place to share stories and watch for the northern lights!

Tranquillity

We loved the setting. It was beautiful and tranquil. We do have a few suggestions. The lighting could be improved. It is not bright enough to read at night. The bathroom is very small. The shower is not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. We also suggest adding grab bars to the shower area. There was a problem, with the heater but the owner plans to get that resolved. Overall, we liked our stay, and we were happy we decided to stay at Carp Lake and not somewhere else where it would have been busier. The owners are next door and are friendly and helpful. We loved their dog.

Cousins August birthday celebration

The cottage was amazing, on the lake, very clean and comfortable. Kim and family were amazing. Close to all kinds of fun! My cousin and I had a blast. Will be back,

Great getaway

What a delightful place to stay! Close to everything we wanted to do and see. Would not hesitate to stay again. Their dog Millie is a lot of fun!!! Great!
