An Awesome and Modern One Bedroom Loft Apartment in Historic Cuenca

Loft #1, a self-contained fully furnished modern loft apartment, in the well-known Casa San Sebastian building is conveniently located in El Centro, Cuenca's historic district. This charming building, with only 8 self contained individual units, is Cuenca's first colonial building to meet UNESCO requirements, to be rehabilitated and to be restored into modern lofts and apartments. When you live in Loft #1, you are in a safe and secure building, located on one of Cuenca's preeminent streets where you will find many stylish boutiques and shops. This unit is perfectly situated and is within easy walking distance to Parque Calderon, the city's main square, Diez de Agosto mercado, Calle Larga, San Sebas and the popular and colourful outdoor flower market. Casa San Sebastian is surrounded by restaurants, shopping, sightseeing opportunities, fabulous architecture and museums.

This unit, on the main floor, features an open concept living/dining/kitchen area. A half bath is on the main level and a full bath with a shower and shelves is on the loft level. An ample number of fresh hand towels, bath towels, face cloths and soap are in both bathrooms. Large windows open onto the quiet central courtyard of the building, allowing for light and fresh air all year round. The shared rooftop garden and cozy covered patio area are perfect for a morning coffee, reading, quiet work or for a fabulous view to watch the sunset over the city. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, gas stove top and gas oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, blender, cutlery, glasses, dishes and all cooking utensils including pots and pans. A washer, dryer, iron and ironing board are located in the separate laundry area. All linens are provided for the comfortable queen size bed. Closets, with hangers and drawers, are in the bedroom; reading lamps are by the bed side. The monthly rental fee includes regular cleaning, the reliable internet service, gas, electricity, water, Direct TV and transportation to and from the Cuenca airport ... there are not any additional charges.

John and Enid, the owners, live in the city and are readily available should an emergency occur. If you arrive at the Cuenca airport, we pick you up and get you back in time for your departure. All guests are greeted with a variety of fresh fruit and a vase full of flowers.

**The rental fee is $800.00 US/month for a period of 4 weeks. All payments are made in cash upon arrival. The minimum stay is for one month/4 weeks.**

Loft #1 is the ideal place for a couple or single person, or, for the person who wants to make their new permanent home in Cuenca. This is the most desirable place to 'hang your hat' when you are in Cuenca ... we look forward to welcoming you to Cuenca. Hasta luego.

About John and Enid

John and I left Calgary, Alberta and moved to Cuenca at the end of 2014. Along with us came two wire hair daschunds - they were the heroes of the exhausting trip.

After months of research and preparing for the move, we made an exploratory visit in September and at that time, we found the place that would be our new home. After returning to Calgary, we sold all our belongings and made plans for the day that we would leave Canada and arrive in Cuenca. We arrived near to the end of 2014 and have not looked back since.

Why John and Enid chose Cuenca

Casa San Sebastian is history - it is the first colonial building to meet UNESCO requirements and to be rehabilitated in the El Centro area. The building was developed by a well-known Cuenca developer - Juan Heredia. It is just a short walk to Parque Calderon ... the centre of Cuenca and a hub of activity, especially on the weekends and during holidays. The outdoor flower market and San Francisco Market, along

with food mercados, shopping and small tiendas are all close-by. The San Sebas Plaza is 2 blocks away and with that comes a popular restaurant/coffee house as well as a beer house and a cafe/gallery. Loft #1 is perfect for either a couple or single person who wants to make Cuenca their home - whether it be a permanent or a temporary stay. Along with being in a safe area, Casa San Sebastian is well maintained and all who either stay there temporarily or live there permanently, take pride in being part of Cuenca's history and have the luxury of being in the perfect and convenient location.

Excelente!

The Loft exudes convenience!. Within a one minute walk I found 4 bakeries, 3 cafes, the best Belgian beer in Cuenca, an Italian restaurant and an Italian delicatessen, a maker of Panama hats, the contemporary museum, 6 convenience stores, a bookstore and a lady selling fresh fruit from her wheelbarrow outside the front door. When I stretched my legs for a five minute walk, I found the fresh food market, the main square, the Rio Tomebamba, a flower market and weekend stalls selling everything from candies to shawls to religous icons. Inside the Loft, when I needed a juicer, the blender was there. If I needed an umbrella, there were two hanging on the coat rack. If I ran out of toothpaste, there was a new tube sitting there with the lotions and soaps. A flashlight by the bed, a cupboard to lock away valuables, a box of sticky notes and pens - just lots of very thoughtful and convenient things making my stay even more enjoyable. The owners John and Enid picked me up at the airport and seemed to respond to my emails before I could hit the send button! Convenience galore!

Excellent beautiful place!!

We had a great time in Cuenca ,we loved the beautiful ,clean and modern Loft, very much .This on two floors with gallery , romantic, apartment, had everything you need !A charming sitting lounge Terrace, to read and relax your morning coffee ,from the roof top, to enjoy ,the stoning view, to overlook Cuenca . This is all only, a few steps , to the most beautiful parks and walks , to the Tomebamba river , with all the excellent Restaurants and interesting Shops , Museums and Churches!!! It is a miraculous , lively city .The owners Enid and John , you feel ,you find already, new friends!

Thank you very much again , we are sure, we will be back in Cuenca!!!!!!!

We stayed the month of February in Casa#1. It was perfect for us.

The loft is fully equipped with all services: WiFi, gas stove and oven, full fridge, washer and dryer, smart TV, great shower with lots of hot water. It was also equipped with every small appliance u could ever want. Enid and John went even further and equipped the apartment with all paper products, tin foil and plastic wrap. The beds were super comfy which is important when staying for a month. The Casa is in a heritage building shared with other apartments. There r two common areas one covered and one on top of the roof. The roof top was our favorite place for breakfast and happy hour as the view of the city was spectacular. The location was the best..... We could walk all El central and our favorite was San Sebastián Square which was one block away. The square is surrounded with cafes, bakeries and restaurants. The square is enjoyed by all. John and Enid are first class hosts.....

Fantastic loft - wonderful hosts

Enid and John arranged for a driver to pick my husband and myself up in Guayaquil. We arrived at the loft to be greeted by Enid, who showed us around and answered all the questions we had. We felt right at home from then on. The loft was extremely quiet and the bed was comfortable giving us a sound sleep each night. There was an ample supply of hot water so we started each day off with a great shower. The central location allowed us to walk to nearby shopping, markets, restaurants, parks and museums. The superb loft and our gracious hosts made for a wonderful holiday. We highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Cuenca.

Beautiful, peaceful and comfortable 1 bedroom loft in historic el centro area of Cuenca.

Our 1st experience in an air bnb was perfect. Our stay was for one month and we had everything we needed to feel right at home. Casa San Sebastian was right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city, but once you entered the complex it was quiet and peaceful. If there was anything we needed or wanted to know, all we needed to do was ask. The loft is very cozy and modern. Our favorite area was the outdoor lounge space and roof top with a spectacular view of the city. Enid and John were perfect hosts and treated us to lunch the last week. We would definitely return if we needed another short term home.

All payments to be made in U.S. cash upon arrival. For more than a one month stay, the monthly rental fee is payable at the beginning of each month. If all is in order and the keys are returned when leaving, the $300.00 U.S. deposit will be returned.
