About John Clark
Our family roots on the Gulf Coast go back over 300 years. Owner and wife are from New Orleans and Mobile respectively. We currently live in Mandeville, Louisiana, with our five daughters. We initially bought the house in Bay St. Louis for a weekend family getaway, but with the girls growing older and college costs growing even faster, we decided to open our much-loved house to guests. The original 125 year old Creole cottage on our lot was washed away by Hurricane Katrina; only the chimney bricks and cast iron bathtubs remained. The current house was completed in 2009.
John Clark purchased this House in 2009
Why John Clark chose Bay Saint Louis
Bay St. Louis is to us a magical place. There is always a sea breeze to be caught on the porch. The nights are so peaceful and quiet, and the stars so clear and bright, that it seems like you are far, far away from civilization. The beach is very accessible (no seawall) and close (about 500 feet). Downtown, with lively restaurants and cute shops, is less than a mile away, so it's the best of both worlds. It's a very family-oriented place, with plenty to do for kids once they're tired of the beach.
What makes this House unique
Very close to beach and downtown Bay St. Louis. Peaceful, open setting.

We had a great weekend for our annual Girls Weekend! The house is perfect! We feel right at home. Great location!! Close to town, amazing view of the beach, in walking distance to the beach, cozy and comfortable porches. Can't ask for more! This is our go to! We love walking to the beach to watch the sun rise. The kitchen has the convenience of home. The beds are very comfy. God willing we will be back next year!!
We are a family of 9 from the ages of 2 to 70. This property was perfect. The space and toys was ideal for children. Everyone had nothing but praise for the house. We were very pleased with the rental, and how it was handled. Thank you for letting us rent it.
Thank you so much for your kind review! Our home has been a special place For our family and it makes us happy when others feel the same way! We hope you will come back again! Mary Louise
Perfect location, couldn't ask for more!
This house was wonderful! It has that comfortable feeling, like there's a family that lives here and loves it, and they're willing to share it with you! The owners are so nice and helpful. The house was super clean and well-maintained. The neighborhood is very quiet, the porch and view is beyond beautiful, and the location (less than half a block to the white sand beach) is just perfect. Downtown with shops, bars, and restaurants is 5 minutes away. You can walk the beach path, ride bikes, sit on the porch swing and read a book, sleep in the hammocks, so much to do! I've rented many homes over the years, but none of them gave me the peaceful and relaxed feeling I got from this home. And it's less than 40 minutes from my home in New Orleans! Perfect!!! Can't wait for my next trip!
Best porch, perfect view & cozy house
We loved our stay! The location couldn't be better -- just a few steps from the beach. Sitting on the porch and feeling the breeze come in was so relaxing, and the house is cozy, homey and welcoming. We will definitely return. We loved Bay St. Louis, too!
Thank you so much for your kind review! It makes us happy when our guests love our home and Bay St. Louis as much as we do! Please come back
Best home we have stayed in from visits in several states and 3 countries
My family had the best possible stay in Bay St Louis thanks to the Clarks and their wonderful home. Perfect location to walk to beach, old town shops and restaurants and even churches. The views from the wrap around porch is beautiful. We enjoyed several nice sunsets with a cool drink and a nice breeze. Every amenity you could ask for is available inside as well. Games and toys for adults and children abound. Excellent TV, movies and music. Well stocked kitchen. You just have to see this place to believe it. We can't wait for another opportunity to visit again. Thanks very much to the Clarks for a great vacation.
