|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
This is the third season for us. The upstairs now has an additional twin bed so it can now accomodate 5 people.. The upstairs would be perfect for your kids. This 4 bedroom bungalow has one bathroom. Both bedrooms downstairs have queen size beds and dresser, there is an additional futon for extra sleeping space. The kitchen is updated with clean tile floors, a marble topped island with barstools and a separate dining area. There is no air-conditioning, but ceiling fans throughout. It is not a well so the water is completely drinkable. The new larger windows open to let fresh lake air in and offer a spacious feeling. If you require more than the 8-10 people that it could sleep we do have a very rustic cabin on the property. There is no plumbing or electric at the moment. Please advise if you would like to use the additional sleeping quarters, we will access a fee of 100$ if no prior approval is received. If you would like to use the rustic cabin there will be an additional charge of 40$ per stay. Thank you for understanding.
Just to be clear, this house is not on Lake Huron, but the public beach access is an easy walk well within 100 yards from the front door, just down Lake Street. It is a very secluded public beach and has the remains of the Forester Dock as an added attraction. Glimpses of the lake are available from the house's shaded lot. From experience, sometimes it is nice to get off the beach.
Water shoes may be a good idea, especially for little feet.
Clean, simple decor. Child friendly environment. Located on a dead end dirt road, kids can bike safely. Bring your water sport equipment. Plenty of yard space to store them when not in use.
We really think you will not be disappointed with your stay here. Never judge a book by it's cover. The interior is calm, simple and relaxing.
On a side note, construction through Port Huron is very confusing, please use exit 275. We have found this is the easiest way to avoid becoming lost.
Inside was great.Open ,clean, roomy.I wil be back next year. But I prefer to send you the money ,nt that company. Dian e M
House was lovely, clean, well furnished, easy to find. Beach was easy to get to and lovely to use. We could have done without the cranky neighbor but otherwise enjoyed our visit. Owners were lovely and house had everything we needed. We look forward to coming back.
This was an awesome experience!! Kristine, the owner was very nice and helpful. We are 6 mature females out for a great girls weekend, Friday night through Monday night!! Very short walk to the beach..we spent some time there every day! lots of room to gather in the cottage, nice and clean throughout. we could spread out in the big living room, and there were two dining areas with tables for eating and games. there were two bedrooms downstairs and 3 upstairs. loved that the floors were tile and wood/wood laminate instead of carpeting that gets wet and smelly when you are near the beach. no a/c but we were lucky and the nights were very cool and there are tons of windows, stand fans, box fans and over head fans. Only one bathroom, but we made do nicely. the only thing lacking were mirrors, the only mirror in the place was in the bathroom above the sink. and the bathroom was too busy to take time for drying hair/styling hair in that room. some suggestions would be a bathmat on the floor in the bathroom. closeline or something similar to hang wet towels and bathing suits etc. overall I would definitely rent the cute cottage again!! Oh and just across the highway is a wonderful campground that the public is welcome. you can buy a day pass for $10.oo each and that includes 30 min each person to rent the kayaks or paddle boats. free mini golf, bouncing pillows, water slide, small swimming lake and free rafts for the lake!!
This was our first trip up to Lake Huron and it didn't disappoint! The house was clean, roomy and had everything we needed plus more. There was plenty of yard space around the house for kids to play, including a shuffleboard court. We enjoyed s'mores in the front yard fire pit. The beautiful beach was a quick walk up a dirt path. The closest market was 5 miles down the road and we always found what we wanted. We've been to several beaches in different states and everyone agrees this was our best family vacation yet! Many thanks to the Moirs for sharing such a gem with the rest of us!
The lake house is very cozy, very accomidating, not extravagant but it is quite comfortable and perfect for our family of 6...It could sleep more. The beach access is great, good sand with some smooth rocks. There is a grocery store about 5 miles away and multiple surrounding towns with things to see and do. The owner, Chris, was extremely helpful in resolving a minor issue where we accidently booked mon-fri but actually needed to stay till Saturday. She was very quick with a resolution and so very polite and welcoming. The "regulars" in the neighborhood made us feel like part of their family. I would definitely return if I were vacationing here again.
Stayed here for a wedding close by, although most of our time was spent at wedding venue, this house met our needs and was cute and clean! The owners were were helpful and short walk to the beach! The market is a 5-10 min drive and closest town about 15 min, which makes for a quaint getaway.

This house is on the Lake Huron side of M-25, across from the Lake Huron Campgrounds in Forester Michigan. Five miles north of Port Sanilac and two miles north of the Huron Shores Golf Club. The campground has putt putt golf, a cafe for prepared foods and a well stocked general store. The Forester Inn Bar and Steakhouse is a short walk down the street. Drinks and dinner within a short walk makes a nice night out. The beach is excellent for swimming and is a walk-out beach, not a cliff or stair climb. The remains of the historic Forester Pier are picturesque.
Port Sanilac is 5 miles to the south and offers dining, laundry, hardware, a dive shop, novelty shopping, groceries, gas, public beaches, a marina with boat launch and many other attractions. The Stone Lodge for dinner and a walk on the marina breakwall makes a nice night out.
For the golfers, the Huron Shores Golf Club is about 2 miles south, between the house and Port Sanilac.
Forester itself has some fun things. The Sanilac county Forester Park makes a nice beach walk destination for ice cream and playground fun. The Forester cemetary has been an attraction for some. The ForeStore is a fun visit for the kids and some good local history books. And the remains of the Forster pier have attracted swimmers, snorkelers, divers, photographers and people who just plain want to sit on the beach, listen to the waves and relax. Kayaking about the old pier is fun.
Golf, gas and grocery store, boat launch, dining, shopping all within 5 miles. For drinks, dining and beach fun you can just walk.
Lexington, Michigan is about 12 miles from house which also provides beach, shopping and dining. A bit bigger than Port Sanilac, Lexington has a winery/brewery, more stores, more golf courses
Biking the backroads and kayaking are favorites.
