IRON MOUNTAIN ESTATE

We finished updating our Iron Mountain Estate in October 2015 with the highest quality materials. You'll find Kohler, polished Italian Travertine, Restoration Hardware Crystal chandeliers, Bose, Sony, Z Galleries and more! You will feel like you stepped into a magazine, but with the comforts of home!

BACKYARD

The Iron Mountain Estate is truly a luxury resort compound - everything is right there on this enormous, private yard. Surrounded by mature ficus hedging, with every amenity imaginable, and with amazing lime-green and black decor, you will feel like you are at your own private 5-star hotel at a fraction of the price!

The south-facing yard is over 1/2 an acre; you have incredible sun all day long and amazing sunsets! We tore out the old pool and installed a large 20x42 ft. heated salt-water pool with a 9x8 ft spa, surrounded by Queen and Washington Palms. Spend the day lounging in the pool on one of our lime green pool floats, listening to your favorite music from hard-wired Bose speakers on all 4 corners of the pool. Have a drink (acrylic drink-ware only!) at the swim-up bar right in the pool! The tanning shelf in the pool is only 12-inches deep - perfect for letting little ones splash around or for cooling off while getting a great tan! Imagine reading a book on one of 10 custom-covered Cast Aluminum chaise lounges under a commercial grade umbrella while the kids play in the pool!

Nobody will be bored at the Iron Mountain Estate: Play a game volleyball in the pool (steel posts)with the built-in volleyball net (removable), or play a game of volleyball/badminton on the full-size grass court in the backyard. Remove the volleyball net for a game of soccer - the grass area is over 2000 square feet!!! Play a game of pool at the custom outdoor tournament size pool table located right off the pool deck. Or, have a ping-pong tournament at the outdoor ping-pong table. After you go for a hike on the nearby Santa Rosa Mountains, come back and have a relaxing spa to soothe your muscles!

In the evening, you can still play volleyball, pool or ping-pong as there are lights and heaters above the pool table (with music of course!) You can sit at one of two natural gas fire-pits and have a sip of your favorite cocktail! The professional landscape lighting provides the perfect ambiance for spending your evening outdoors!

The Games Cabana is 300 square feet of air-conditioned private space! It's carpeted with a large HDTV, a foosball table, comfortable seating, a foosball table and plenty of toys. Your kids will spend hours in the Cabana!

OUTDOOR KITCHEN/DINING

You will love the enormous outdoor kitchen with a natural gas barbecue, a searing grill, a gas cook-top with 4 burners, and a sink. Dine outdoors 365 days/year as the outdoor dining area and kitchen is covered by a trellis and with powerful outdoor heaters and speakers. The extra-large dining table seats 12 persons plus 4 stools at the bar.

BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS

There are 3 bedrooms in the main house (3 kings) and 2 bedrooms in the casita (1 king and the other with 2 queen beds). All 5 bedrooms have brand new carpeting, pillow-top extra plush mattresses, large closets, a flat-screen HDTV, ceiling fans, luxury linens and beautiful furnishings and decor. Four of the bedrooms have their own separate bathrooms. The king bedroom in the main house uses the main bathroom.

All 5 bathrooms have beautiful Porcelanosa tiles, Kohler fixtures, stunning crystal lighting, huge showers with Starfire glass enclosures, 2 showerheads, carrara marble countertops and travertine floor tiles. Four of the bathrooms have double sinks. The Master Bathroom is incredible - it's huge, with a steam shower with 3 showerheads, and a huge soaker tub under a gorgeous crystal chandelier.

KITCHEN

The Kitchen has all new cabinetry, an 8-foot island and new quartz white counter tops. There are 2 dishwashers, a 50-lb ice machine, large built-in refrigerator and freezer, a garburator, a boiling hot and cold filtered water dispenser, a microwave, a gas cooktop and an electric oven. Most importantly, there are 2 enormous picture windows to maximize the light and views. With tons of counter-space, the whole family can cook a meal together! We've fully stocked the kitchen with every small appliance and utensil you could ever need to cook a large family meal.

LIVING ROOM/DINING ROOM

The main living area of the house is an open concept; it's exactly the configuration you want for a vacation home. The living room has the most comfortable deep-seat sofa, love-seat and chair that you've ever sat in! It's 45-inches deep and filled with down - you'll never want to get up! You can relax, turn on the gas fireplace and watch a movie on the HDTV held in a super cool easel.

The distressed wood Restoration Hardware extended Dining Table and French linen chairs seats 12. You'll dine under Incredible Restoration Hardware crystal chandeliers beside an over-sized Trestle mirror so that everybody enjoys the views of the backyard and the Santa Rosa Mountains. Of course, you'll be listening to your favourite music hard-wired in through the Sonos sound system and Bose ceiling speakers.

OTHER AMENITIES

Enjoy Free WiFi and free long-distance anywhere in the US and Canada. A printer and some essential office supplies are available for your use as well as a large desk in the master bedroom.

RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT

We accept reservations through VRBO on-line. In order to reserve, we require 50% of the total cost of the reservation along with receipt of a completed and signed rental agreement. We are not able to hold any reservations pending receipt of funds or the contract as our properties book up very rapidly. Please be advised that VRBO processes payments through Europe and as a result, your credit card provider may charge you an international transaction fee.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Our Palm Desert Vacation Rentals are almost always booked with a guest checking out in the morning and another guest checking in that evening. Our properties take approximately 5 hours to clean, and to wash, dry iron and replace all the linens and towels. Therefore, our check-in time is 5:00 pm and our check-out time is 11:00 am. Occasionally, we can offer an earlier check-in time or a later check-out time but only if nobody is checking in or out on the same day. If you wish to guarantee a check-in time prior to 5pm on the day of your arrival, the only way to do so is to book the property for the prior night and then you can check in at any time after 5pm the day prior to your arrival. Likewise, if you wish to check-out after 11am, the only way to do so is to book the property for the next day as well and then you can check-out at your leisure.

RENTAL RULES

It is our priority to make your stay at our home as peaceful and enjoyable as possible. The Iron Mountain Estate is located in a residential neighborhood where it is important to respect our neighbors. No outside noise is permitted after 10pm. No parking on the street. No events or parties are permitted. No additional persons permitted other than those listed in rental contract unless specifically authorized in writing by the owners. $1000-$5000 fines will be levied by the City for breaches of any by-laws. All fines plus an administration fee of $500/fine as well as any extra charges incurred will be deducted from the Damage Protection Deposit before any refund is issued. All of our properties are subject to the rules in the Rental Contract as well as the Palm Desert Short Term Rental Rules. No events, disruption of the neighbors or parties of any kind are permitted at any of our homes. We expect our renters to provide the utmost of respect to the property and to the neighbors. Palm Desert Short Term Rental Licence #42632.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Our Cancellation Policy is in essence as follows: if a guest cancels, we will refund up to 90% of the amount paid to date if we secure a replacement reservation. See our Rental Contract for the complete Cancellation Policy.

We are a professional couple (doctor and lawyer) with two young adult children from Vancouver who absolutely love our homes in sunny Palm Desert! We take great pride in our Holiday Home Rentals and have made them comfortable for ourselves as well as for our renters. We work hard, and when we head to the desert, we like to relax. We chose the Iron Mountain Estate for the incredible outdoor living, the location and the high quality of the construction. It is a solid house, built in the 1960s with all stucco interior walls for fabulous insulation and noise reduction. The backyard was the main selling feature though - it simply goes on forever! It is over half of an acre! There is an amazing citrus grove, 37 Palm trees and with the 20'x42' pool and 8'x9' spa - you will just live in that yard! The outdoor kitchen is 18-feet long with a natural gas barbecue, a 4-burner cook-top a sink and even speakers and California Misters! We have turned the Iron Mountain Estate into a true luxury outdoor living compound. We have not over-looked any detail - from the lighting, to the landscaping, to the sound system and even the toss cushions. Virtually everything is custom made just for the Iron Mountain Estate! We just love this property and we hope that you will too!

The Iron Mountain Estate offers space and privacy, sun and shade, fun and relaxation for every member of your group. It is particularly well-suited to families with children with the large children's playhouse and the play-depth pool. The commercial grade volleyball netting over the pool will make for hours of family fun! You can take in a game of pool, ping-pong, foosball or volleyball - all without leaving the compound! Go for a hike on the breathtaking Santa Rosa Mountains and then return for a spa while capturing the silhouettes of the Palm Trees at dusk. You will never want to leave this compound as it has everything you could possibly want right at your fingertips. You can cook a full meal with your family in the fully-stocked huge kitchen with all brand-new stainless steel appliances: an electric oven, gas stove-top, 2 dishwashers, an 8-foot island, as well as beautiful mountain and garden views. The house sleeps a maximum of 10 adults but can sleep up to 12 people if at least 2 guests are small children. There are 5 bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms have king size beds. The Queen Bedroom in the Casita has 2 queen beds - it's perfect for smaller children or 2 singles. The Iron Mountain Estate is truly a vacation resort compound. You do not ever have to leave as everything is right there for you! Swim, play volleyball in the pool, play Ping-Pong, play pool, play foosball, play soccer, play badminton, watch TV, listen to music, relax around the firepit, cook a family meal, dine outdoors, dine indoors! It's all right there!!

third year of a family vacation here

This is a very high end property in a great location. It is well equipped to handle 10 guests with plenty of dishes, glassware and cutlery to easily handle everyone and two dishwashers to handle the load. The property has been well maintained and we noticed new doors and windows this year. The owners are very responsive to questions or concerns. It was quite warm when we stayed so we loved the outdoor misters.

Perfect desert oasis

We have stayed twice in this wonderful home and have already booked next year! Perfect for our group of 5 couples. All five bedrooms have a designated bath and the home is amazing for lots of people. The location is great for walking, so close to the shops and restaurants on Paseo drive yet in a quiet residential neighborhood. The kitchen is so well stocked, huge fridge and freezer. Two dishwashers and two washer/dryers. The backyard is the reason we keep returning. Like having your own private resort property. If you have a large family or lots of friends don't stay anywhere else in Palm Desert, you won't be disappointed with this vacation home!

Unbelievable Property

Our entire family stayed for a week at this property and it wasn't long enough! It had everything you can imagine and the kids loved all of the variety it provided (badminton, pool, ping pong, volleyball, etc.). The property is beautiful and we'll be looking to book it again. Believe it our not, the pictures don't even do it justice. I would highly recommend it!

Wonderful home!

We had a chilly week in palm desert but were lucky that we were staying in such a fantastic house. There was so much included and the pool area and yard were amazing. Desert baby worked well to rent extra pack and plays also. Thanks for the great time. We will be back!

Terms include acceptance of our Rental Contract. The Guest shall return the completed and signed rental contract to the Homeowner within 7 days of making a reservation. Cleaning fee is based on use of one set of linens per bed. If additional linens are used, or if a linen change is made, an additional charge of $75/bed will apply. Excessive use of towels will also incur additional cleaning charges $5/towel. "Flat fee" includes rental fee + pool heating/utility fee, but does not include cleaning fee, damage insurance or taxes. Higher rates apply for special events and holidays. Special additional terms and contract required for Coachella and the Stagecoach Music Festival including a $2500 refundable damage deposit. A Coachella/Stagecoach rental contract must be signed before renting during these festivals. Over-seeding discount applies for 2 weeks each fall when the grass is scalped and seeded with winter grass. Guests are not permitted to walk on the grass areas during the over-seeding; grass appears brown for the first 5 days of over-seeding. $500 US plus tax for each umbrella broken. $500 administration fee/noise complaint or fine will be charged. Parking violations, and any citations, fines/fees and additional charges will be deducted from refundable damage protection deposit. If paying by credit card, authorize payment to "Homeaway", a UK-based parent company. No occupancy tax is payable for stays over 27 nights. Discounts may apply for stays of 27 nights or longer; inquire with the owners. All fees, taxes and rules are subject to change at any time, even after booking, to comply with legislation, regulations, by-laws and ordinances that may affect this property.
