Charming cottage in quiet forest, yes!

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice few days in Kent in this well designed and tastefully decorated cottage on a rocky knoll overlooking a valley below. The garden was lovely. We especially enjoyed the large screened porch. Overhead fans throughout, windows everywhere. Kitchen is fine, with big stove and fridge (We suggest bringing a sharp knife or two and a nonstick pan). There are nice walks to be had in the area, as well as an abundance of local produce. A very restful getaway.

We had an amazing time. More lovely than the pictures suggest. Had dinner and morning coffee looking at the mountains. Porch was the best!!!

Dreamy !

  • 5 of 5

The photos don't even do this space justice. It was a perfect getaway. The house is cozy and charming but has everything you could ever need. The hosts were so helpful and easy to communicate with. The landscape is gorgeous and inspiring. Feel lucky to have found this gem!

Great place for couples, not families.

  • 3 of 5

Cozy little place. Beautiful surroundings. Be careful as owner is quite picky about normal wear and tear. Manager is friendly and attentive.

Owner's Response: In two years of renting, this was our first problem; we've hosted many families and couples with small children. This renter wrecked the finish on our dining table and said nothing about it. After communicating with them, we did assess damages from their deposit (another first). Potential renters who consider this "normal wear and tear" should indeed look elsewhere. We've furnished our home with nice things and appreciate renters who respect this and are careful.

Simply beautiful

We had a beautiful stay. The home is wonderful, we loved the screened in porch, and the scenery was unbelievable. We would recommend this cabin and would love to return ourselves.

Perfect coice

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely everything about this delightful spot in Kent more than lived up to our expectations. As VRBO operators ourselves, we understand the "ins and outs" of providing spotless, comfortable and cozy accommodations, and 21 Somner Road was a grand slam. Michael and Alan were wonderful to work with, and all of our needs were anticipated and provided for. I couldn't decide if I preferred reading in the comfortable screened-in porch, or outside in the Adirondack chairs, taking in the lovely bucolic view. What a delightful dilemma to have! The location is ideal for all the many delightful explorations that Litchfield County provides. Be sure to consider a visit to the Eric Sloane museum, if you have even a tiny interest in early American tools and life in the Berkshires. I can't say enough positive things about our experience. Thank you MIchael for making your home available, and thank you Alan for making the home, well, a home!
