Dead on!

  • 5 of 5

If you're planning a trip here (which you should) I'd say to you "look for the neighbor's Grateful Dead mailbox and sign, then take the next right. If you see the Phish "Fishman Donut" mailbox, you've gone too far."

My family (wife and 2 daughters) and I stayed here for almost a week. We loved it. The view is fantastic. The screened-in porch is where we spent most of our time either enjoying breakfast, having a beer or playing games. I also stayed in there during a massive rainstorm, watching the lightning and listening to the thunder as rain pleasantly sprayed onto me. The kitchen is solid, if a bit small and there is only 1 bed in the 2nd room. My kids slept together some nights and switched off on the floor for others. I cannot overstate how much we loved all the things we could access from this location; Lake Waramaug, Mt. Tom, Kent Falls Brewery, etc. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful cottage in scenic setting

  • 5 of 5

We spent a few days here to just escape to somewhere peaceful, and it fit the bill nicely. The cottage is well-kept and nicely appointed, and it's in a beautiful area of Connecticut near the NY border. There are lots of places to hike nearby, with beautiful lakes, streams, and waterfalls. The nearby village of Kent is quaint, but without many tourists--at least during the week when we were there.

Charming cottage in quiet forest, yes!

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice few days in Kent in this well designed and tastefully decorated cottage on a rocky knoll overlooking a valley below. The garden was lovely. We especially enjoyed the large screened porch. Overhead fans throughout, windows everywhere. Kitchen is fine, with big stove and fridge (We suggest bringing a sharp knife or two and a nonstick pan). There are nice walks to be had in the area, as well as an abundance of local produce. A very restful getaway.

We had an amazing time. More lovely than the pictures suggest. Had dinner and morning coffee looking at the mountains. Porch was the best!!!

Dreamy !

  • 5 of 5

The photos don't even do this space justice. It was a perfect getaway. The house is cozy and charming but has everything you could ever need. The hosts were so helpful and easy to communicate with. The landscape is gorgeous and inspiring. Feel lucky to have found this gem!

Great place for couples, not families.

  • 3 of 5

Cozy little place. Beautiful surroundings. Be careful as owner is quite picky about normal wear and tear. Manager is friendly and attentive.

Owner's Response: In two years of renting, this was our first problem; we've hosted many families and couples with small children. This renter wrecked the finish on our dining table and said nothing about it. After communicating with them, we did assess damages from their deposit (another first). Potential renters who consider this "normal wear and tear" should indeed look elsewhere. We've furnished our home with nice things and appreciate renters who respect this and are careful.
