Why Mark Goldstein chose Delaware

We fell in love with this property the day we saw it. We have ever since celebrated many holidays, anniversaries, birthdays and other wonderful family time. Fig trees, fruit trees, blueberries, raspberries dot the property. There is also a cook's herb garden out the back door. Just a day or two at our home will convince you that this unique property is a place to come back to time and again. Whether it is the beach, the porches, the nearby restaurants, long bike rides, kayaking, the golf course, the nature preserves - there is something here for everyone.

What makes this house unique

Broadkill beach is a hidden gem on the eastern shore, a quiet residential community with friendly neighbors, a private beach just for residents and guests, full of families, dogs, bonfires and other great summer activities. It is quiet, relaxing and private, yet just a few minutes away from the popular towns of Lewes, Milton, and Rehoboth. This way you get it both ways - a quiet relaxing beach and lots of nearby restaurants and stores.

Mark was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating.

  • 5 of 5

Broadkill beach is a hidden gem. We loved the fact that our dog could enjoy the beach with us. Marks house was wonderful, and the backyard herbs were an extra bonus and what a surprise to find fig trees also. We loved our time at Broadkill and thank you Mark for sharing your home with us.

Great value.

  • 4 of 5

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Broadkill Beach. The beach is perfect for small children, we have 2 under the age of 1 and the house's close proximity to the beach was extremely convenient. The house itself is very nice although lived-in. The rugs and upholstery could use a deep cleaning but overall the house is well kept. We were however disappointed to find that we did not have access to the washer and dryer. This was essential for us while traveling with a 1 year old and 8 month old. We were also bummed to find the house didn't have a charcoal grill as described. There was an outdoor electric grill but it was basically a glorified George Foreman grill that baked food opposed to grill. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I would book this house again.

Great Secluded Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect home to enjoy a beach vacation with your family away from the crowds of the more popular Delaware and Maryland destinations. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable, so we felt right at home. We enjoyed making family meals in the well-equipped kitchen and cooking out on the spacious deck. On the nights we didn't feel like cooking, we hopped in the car and took short ride to Lewes or Rehoboth, which have some great restaurants and shops. We loved the convenience of the very short stroll to the private beach. During our stay the water was calm and warm - which made for a much more relaxing swim than the Atlantic. It was also a big help to have beach chairs and umbrellas already at the house. The owners are great and available to help with any questions or suggestions. We definitely recommend this house and Broadkill Beach as a wonderful family beach vacation.

Wonderful house and ideal location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time staying at Mark's home in Broadkill Beach, Delaware. Everything we needed was right there! The house was very clean and the layout was just great! The kitchen has lots of space to work and prepare meals with everyone trying to help, even the little ones! We enjoyed riding our bikes down to the Broadkill mall and getting fresh donuts on Sunday and fresh sticky buns and cinnamon rolls on Tuesday morning. We are already anxious to come back again next year!

A Peaceful, Relaxed Spot

  • 4 of 5

Our family truly enjoyed this beautiful home!! The house was perfect for our little clan. It was clean, comfortable and very cozy. It had a great layout - a nice deck, open concept kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. Its located very close to a private, quiet beach - which was awesome for our young kids. We would definitely come back!

Home-Chef Hideaway

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 12 had a wonderful time at this house, nicely located steps from a beach with more horseshoe crabs than people (granted, it was late May, and raining) and a short drive to an active bird preserve. It's way away from the bustling crowds, so we gave up on restaurants and busied ourselves in the well-equipped kitchen, enjoying meals under a gorgeous sky (before the mosquitoes descended) on the deck. Keep in mind that there are two airy bedrooms on the top floor, sharing a bath overlooking trees and stars; one small double off the open living space on the first floor, sharing a windowless bath with whoever's sleeping on the spine-challenging convertible; and bunk beds for kids on the twilit level below, where there's a windowless half bath. The lower level also has a roomy screened gathering space, great for those who want to stay up past bedtime without disturbing the elders. Around back there's a private outdoor shower, an overflowing herb garden, and a sunny clothesline—and yes, it did stop raining!

Map

Car: necessary

The property is in a quiet residential area nestled between a federal wildlife preserve and principal eastern shore bird sanctuary and sits just 400 feet from the beach. The beach is a private beach for residents and guests, and a great place for dogs, bonfires, families, fishing etc., as it has few of the restrictions in place at major public beaches in the area. Broadkill beach is 5 minutes from the waterfowl marsh and wildlife preserve, 10 minutes from downtown Milton and Lewes, and 20 minutes form downtown Rehoboth - great places to head for dinner or nightlife but close enough to return to the quiet of Broadkill!
