We've left the city to enjoy organic farming, fishing and horseback riding in Yellow Spring WV and thought others would enjoy a bit of this life as well!
Elizabeth Pennell purchased this cabin in 2015
Enjoy the peace and quiet of a traditional log cabin with the amenities of city life. Once you've relaxed on the wide covered front porch and watched the moon rise over the Blue Ridge, you'll be hooked!
A horse-friendly property in the middle of some of the mid-Atlantic's best trail opportunities. Outdoor living opportunities across a wide range of interests all available from this well-situated cabin.
The perfect spot to spend our lazy weekend at the Lazy Pony. Very relaxing and you had everything we needed on hand. Thank you for everything.
Exactly what we were looking for in a weekend getaway with a few friends to celebrate my wife's birthday! Ty and Liz are awesome, the place is extremely well stocked and well maintained, we had everything we needed including stuff for smores and Ty and Liz's free range chicken eggs in the fridge, they were delicious! Everything worked as it should, the decorating inside was really cool as well, perfectly done! We went on a hike one day, but we mostly just hung around in the cabin and enjoyed some puzzles and board games while watching comedy on HBO and having some brews. The goats are super friendly if you want to say hi to them, and they make you feel welcome, haha. My favorite thing there is the fact that there is absolutely no noise pollution and very little if any light pollution, so stargazing was super peaceful and second to none. It even snowed while we were there and continued to snow throughout the second day! Ty poked his head in to make sure we had everything we needed, which was really nice of him. Overall experience is beyond a 10/10, I can't wait to go back and enjoy it! If you have any hesitation on booking, fear not, because this place is the one, you have to experience it to believe it!
We arrived to find a wonderful cozy cabin. Ty brought up wood immediately for the wood stove. lots of nice touches in the kitchen. Definitely would return. Need another light in the living are for reading.
My boyfriend, his dog , and I spent Sat-Mon at the Lazy Pony and couldn't have been more happy. Its beautiful, tucked away, and has all of the extras you want out of a weekend mountain getaway: fire pit, grill, wrap around deck with beautiful mountain views, adirondack chairs on the deck, and GOATS. The location is just close enough to Winchester to give you going out options if you feel adventurous. We hiked on Saturday prior to checking in, the trailhead was maybe 20 minutes away. In addition to all of that, the owners stock the fridge with farm fresh eggs and the kitchen has almost all of the little things you need to only have to bring actual 'food' for your stay.
Highly recommend Lazy Pony to everyone. You won't be disappointed.
Husband and I had a relaxing peaceful time. We needed to get away and got what we were looking for. The views were amazing. Looking forward in returning.
We loved the cabin and the location. It is a wonderful setting and we would absolutely go back. Thanks especially for the farm fresh eggs and s'mores materials! Our only comments are that the couch (futon) is not comfortable so we had trouble finding a good place to curl up together to read. Also, the $25 per day dog fee seemed kind of steep and was not disclosed up front. But, again, we would definitely return!
