Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath townhome, sleeps 4, close proximity to area attractions.

Pine Cone Place is a 2 BR, 2 BA townhome located 1.5 miles east of downtown Custer in the Boot Hill Ranch Estates subdivision. It is in the city limits of Custer with paved streets and is centrally located to all area attractions.

The townhome has a tastefully furnished master bedroom with a queen sized bed, attached bathroom with a shower and a large walk-in closet.

The nicely decorated second bedroom has a queen sized bed, a large closet and a bathroom with a tub/shower combination across the hall. High quality bedding and bathroom linens are provided.

There is a spacious living/dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. The living and dining area furnishings were new in 2015.

In addition to a stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, the kitchen is equipped with small appliances including a toaster, coffee maker, and crockpot, as well as cooking/baking utensils, dishes, flatware, and linens. Paper products, basic spices and condiments are provided for our guests.

Additional amenities include a gas grill, washer and dryer, a large screen TV, DVD player, free WiFi and the use of one half of an attached double car garage.

The outdoor spaces include a covered patio with a dining set which adjoins the living area through a sliding glass door. There is also a front patio with rocking chairs and a retractable awning for protection from the afternoon sun. Both outside spaces are ideal for relaxing, viewing deer and turkeys and interacting with neighbors if you choose.

The neighborhood has a paved loop road for morning or evening walks and a resident population of white tailed deer and wild turkeys.

It is common to awaken to the sound of the turkeys coming out of their roost and to find two or more deer bedded down on the hill behind the house.

About Judy Lacey

My husband, Ron, and I grew up and graduated high school in Custer. We moved to Washington state in 1989. After 25 years spent in Washington and Wyoming, we returned home in January 2015 and purchased our townhome.

It is our intention to make it an inviting and comfortable vacation rental for visitors to the beautiful Black Hills. Our wish is for our guests to enjoy our lovely townhome while relaxing, exploring and experiencing all that Custer and the Black Hills have to offer.

We are spending the summer in our RV in Custer and will be available if needed but respectful of your privacy.

Why Judy Lacey chose Custer

We chose this townhome in Custer for our vacation rental because this is where we grew up and we have so many fond memories of the area. It is also an ideal vacation headquarters because of it's central Black Hills location and proximity to numerous area attractions.

We loved our villa. They had everything we needed, clean and as comfortable as home. We can’t thank the folks for such a beautiful place to stay.

HomeStay near Custer State Park, Black Hills South Dakota

  • 5 of 5

We checked out of the lovely home stay and turned to one another to talk again about how wonderful it was.

Thank you Ron & Judy for the comforting hospitality we enjoyed during our Buffalo Roundup week adventure.

For our week in the Black Hills of South Dakota we chose to rent the Townhome in the Boot Hill Estates development. Just two miles from historic Custer and 2 miles from the park entrance, the home provided all of the comforts and conveniences of a home at hotel prices.

The Wifi allowed us to easily upload pictures every night and surf the net for details of our next days planned adventures.

The owners are set up to go through the HomeAway system. Highly recommend! ‪https://t.hmwy.io/r2kd/oCRxXRGTRG‬

Couldn't have had a better experience anywhere else.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

It would be hard for you to improve on perfection. Loved and enjoyed your patio home. We found your home exactly as described and furnished so you could just move in and enjoy the surroundings. The view from the front window was nice to just sit with a cup of coffee and plan your day.

We visited Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wall, S.D., Badlands, The 1880 Train Ride at Hill City, and The Mammouth Site and Devil's Tower in Wyoming. We shopped and ate downtown.

We grilled out one night and worked a jigsaw puzzle. We enjoyed watching the deer walk across the back patio and throughout the neighborhood.

The zoned heating worked out great since our daughter and son-in-law were also with us. Everybody had what they wanted for their level of comfort.

We would return in a minute but it is really a LONG WAY from Oklahoma. (ha)

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place for vacation spot, everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. Traveling with another couple - two bedroom two bathroom was just right along with room to relax. Only thing we thought of for an added improvement would be chair pads for the dining chairs, seats got a little hard! Loved the home & would stay there again.

Custer is centrally located in the Black Hills with easy access to Crazy Horse Memorial, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and the Wildlife Loop, Jewel Cave, Wind Cave and the Mammoth Site.

Reptile Gardens and Bear Country near Rapid City and Evans Plunge in Hot Springs are fun places to visit especially with children.

We also recommend day trips that are off the beaten path such as Bear Mountain, site of a former Forest Service fire lookout tower, as well as the site of a former Civilian Conservation Camp northwest of Custer in the Limestone area.
