Great Location including wildlife!!!
Great little place for 3 or less. A bear walked right outside the place so we were able to see it within feet of our window without the danger. An owl family entertained us for a few days. The National Forest was very close and we were able to see moose a few days in a row. Views are spectacular. Not a major drawback but kitchen is tight, we try to cook often to save on going out but we made it work. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful, Comfortable, Welcoming
This was a wonderful place to stay for our trip! We did a lot of exploring of the Anchorage area, we drove up to Hatcher's Pass, we drove down to Seward, and lots of places in between. It's a great, centrally located place. The guesthouse was immaculately clean, well decorated, and very comfortable. Eagle River is a beautiful little town itself! We saw moose on our drive home to the guesthouse 3 or 4 days out of our week long trip. There is a beautiful nature center with wonderful hiking trails just down the road. Richard had everything we could possibly need at the guesthouse: bear spray to carry with us, a bell to hook to your backpack to make noise for safety, bug spray, sunscreen (just in case you forgot these things). There was a coffee maker, toaster, dishes, refridgerator, etc. We stocked up at Walmart to have cheap breakfasts each morning before heading out. There were a couple of nights that we fell asleep to the peaceful sound of hooting owls somewhere outside our window. It was a very serene, nature-filled setting. Richard provided all kinds of recommendations on hiking trails, attractions to see and things to do. If you get a chance to stay here, I highly recommend it!
Thank you for the great review! We're impressed by the number of adventures you had in a week. You and yours are always welcome here at Eagle Peak Guesthouse.
Thanks again for coming!
Quiet and peaceful
I had my mother and sister stay here during my daughter's graduation and it was every bit as great as we had hoped it would be. Away from busy roads with wonderful views of the Chugach Mountains. The nature center is just down the road, or Eagle River and Anchorage are close enough to be convenient.
If I end up with a full house again, I'll certainly look to see if this is available for additional guests.
Thank you Nathan for the kind review. Your family was great! We'll be here if you need extra space again.
We had a marvelous time at Eagle Peak Guesthouse. It was a short weekend trip, but the accommodations were wonderful. The house was clean and inviting, and the location fabulous. We would have loved to stay longer!!
Thank you Teresa, for staying here and wine! Come back, if you can, when things green up and it's easy to see wildlife.
Absolutely loved it!
The place was perfectly clean, good beds and bedding, games, books, ... altogether a lovely place to stay in a quiet wooded area. Also, close to a small town with good restaurants and shopping, and a wonderful nature center with paths of varying length which were beautiful and secluded. Richard also provided bear spray (pricey to buy) which fortunately we did not need!
Loved this place. Perfect for what we needed. Easy drive to Anchorage. Scenery was beautiful. Saw moose and bear in the area. Richard was great and informative. Nice and clean. Had a great time. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much.
2 miles from Eagle River Nature Center and Crow Pass trailhead.
