Overview

About the property

At the turn of the century my great grandfather and grandmother, George and Golda Scott, purchased this farm.

In 1963, when my father graduated from Ohio State with a degree in agriculture, Great grandpa George gave him and my mother this farm.

My parents farmed this (along with about 900 other acres) and raised three daughters here.

After my parents’ death in 2004 and 2005, I, Dalelene, that middle daughter, and my husband, Dave, and our youngest daughter bought the farm and relocated here from Lancaster. We are so happy to live here.

After living “back home” for five years, we decided to use this beautiful farm for more than just a residence.

The George and Goldie CabinWe thought that others would enjoy our 80 acres. So, with the help of Ron White Builders, we built our first cabin to allow others to experience the calmness, serenity, and solitude of our family farm. We named this first cabin after my great grandparents, George and Golda (I called her Grandma Goldi) Scott; the George and Goldi.

We hope you enjoy the property and remember with fondness, your time here.

Wonderful cozy get away

  • 5 of 5

My husband chose this for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This exceeded our expectations! The cabin is so quiet and cozy. We warmed up by the fireplace every night and loved this little retreat. It was the perfect place to get away from the busyness of everyday life!

perfect!

  • 5 of 5

we wanted seclusion...access to hiking....access to college town excitement...starlit skies...incredible sunrise & sunset...comfort...quality construction...indoor and outdoor situations...

we found it all here!...almost a half mile long lane up to the top of the hill cabin...a spectacular view in all directions....from the fire pit out back to the fireplace (gas) inside....we could not have found a more perfect place for a winter weekend getaway...

and we were able enjoy this with our labrador retriever!...

and don't let me forget how hospitable the owners were...we will come back again!

Our Second time, as Great as the First

  • 5 of 5

This is a special place for us, a place for us to rest and read and to just enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful part of Ohio. The house is well kept, everything is clean and well cared for. I would only encourage the owners to get a new coffee maker, as there is something wrong with it, but that is a small issue that can be remedied. Other than that, there are no complaints. Thank you again for providing a space for us to unwind and rest.
