About Duncan Adamson

We are a family of four living in South Burlington, Vermont - just 15 miles north of the cottage. We all enjoy the outdoors - hiking, skiing, boating, biking, swimming, etc. - and the cottage is a great leaping-off point for all of those things! We love to share it with others who enjoy it as much as we do.

Duncan Adamson purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Duncan Adamson chose Lake Champlain Valley

We fell in love with the place as soon as we saw it. The view, the location, the charming shingled cottage, the wonderful Long Point neighborhood...

It is an easy place to love!

What makes this cottage unique

We've joked that we would have bought the place if it was just a front porch. It is such a perfect place to look out at the lake and enjoy time with friends and family.

A REAL GEM!

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 4 adults. The cottage is in an idyllic location beside the lake. It has lots of character and is very well provided with all we could require. We particularly enjoyed the use of the canoe. The area is delightfully peaceful, being well off the beaten track. The highlight for our party was seeing a humming bird as we sat relaxing outside enjoying that super view.

It was a perfect quiet getaway location on the Lake and user friendly camp!

  • 5 of 5

So thankful to find this little gem. Started relaxing the minute I stepped in the door. Very comfy camp. Had everything I needed: seclusion, quiet, beauty. Good weather all week. Warm when I arrived so went right in for a lovely cool swim.

Was delighted with the kayaks.. went paddling a lot! Interesting variety of directions to go on the Lake. Thank you Duncan and family! Family and friends had no trouble finding me. Had fun in the Lake, eating on the porch and even did some grilling. And had to play a few board games in the evening. Thank you! God Bless.

What a great weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Duncan and Sue's cottage over Father's Day weekend to fish in the LCI tournament. The cottage is located in one of the best areas for salmon fishing on Lake Champlain which made everything so convenient, easy to get out in the early morning and close enough to run back for lunch or a nap! There is a nice new dock, big enough to safely accomodate our two 25' boats. We found the air conditioning to be a great benefit as the temp outside was in the 80s but the cottage cooled off almost instantly and provided excellent comfort to unwind in and for overnight sleeping. Would recommend to families, folks looking to kick back and relax and of course fisherman who want to be close to some of the most productive cold water fishing on Champlain.

Really enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great experience! The cottage is located on a quiet tucked away street, but a short drive to everything: Shelburne Farms, Shelburne Museum, Charlotte beach, Mt.Philo, Burlington, Lake Champlain Islands, Vineyards, Breweries, restaurants...You name it! The cottage is right on the water with beautiful views from a screened porch and Master Bedroom. It is simple but very clean and had everything we needed. The owners are very lovely people. Thank you, Duncan, for all your helpful suggestions on places to visit. You took such a great care of us! We look forward to come back!
