Located In Palmetto Dunes Plantation. This 2 bedroom villa sleeps 1-6 guests. We are on the second level of the Mooring, there is a private pool just recently upgraded last season. The Master bedroom includes a King size bed, a full bath, and sliding glass doors that opens onto a deck. The kitchen is fully equipped, a full bath is off the hallway and includes an apartment size washer and dryer. The guest bedroom is furnished with 2 full sized beds and a full bath . There is also sliding glass doors that open to another deck.. High Speed Internet is included. Master Bedroom has a king size bed. Second Bedroom includes 2 full size beds. the ocean is within a few 100 feet, there is also tennis, golf , bicycle and kayaks within walking distance. The Moorings is located convently next to the Marriott and between the Marriott and the Dunes House there are restuarants and taverns within a short walk. Palmetto Dunes offers a free shuttle service to Shelter Cove which host a number of fine restuarants, shops and night time entertainment such as fireworks during the summer.

Very nice unit in a great location. Very responsive owners. I am planning on renting again next year. very convenient to the beach and the pool, my kids and wife were very happy so, i am very happy. Compared to the other places I have stayed it is a great value at my favorite vacation destination.

This is our 3rd year coming to this property and it truly is a home away from home, there is nothing lacking here. There is a phone, not all rentals have this. There is also a DVR, again not all rentals have one of these. It meant we could be out & about & taping our favourite shows at the same time, ideal for my husband who doesn’t like to miss any of his English Premier League soccer games while he’s away.

The owners Nick & Sally are great they respond very quickly if there is a question or issue. This condo Is a very short distance to the beach and we’ll miss our daily walks by the ocean.

We’ll be back next year.

Very Clean, close to the beach

Unit is very clean and comfortable. Close to the beach and the Dunes House, where the fish tacos are wonderful. Top floor unit, which means climbing a few more steps but worth it for the view of the trees.

Great location but multiple problems

We have been to HHI many times over the years and try different places on the island so we can find the "just right" place. Sadly, this unit isn't it. The location is great - close to the beach and Dunes House. But, our problems, sigh, included: hair on the floors in bathroom, crumbs all over the kitchen eating area on the floor , a toe nail on the coffee table, crumbs on the kitchen table, one of the beds didn't have clean sheets, the cable was out more than once, the water was turned off twice for several hours (once with a heads up, once without, so surprise!). The coffee maker was stored in the utility closet, was nasty, and so we had to go buy a new one. Not all of the cleaning was done properly when they came back either - most of the floor debris was still there. The unit overall just felt neglected and very dated - either the owners aren't checking it from time-to-time or they've hired the lowest price cleaning crew because it shows, which was very disappointing given the cost and our prior experiences with other VRBO properties at HHI. The owner was apologetic when contacted but steered us rather quickly to the rental company/agency. We did receive gift cards for a restaurant a couple of days in, plus something of a welcome bag; the question was whether it was in apology for the issues, or was just normal but delivered late. I would have given one star, but giving two in the hopes that the gift certificates were an effort to make things right. The washer and dryer are very modest - just a heads up that you have to do tiny loads and be really patient with the dryer if you're doing towels - you can do 2 at a time and that's it. We love Hilton Head and the rest of our stay was great, but would never return to this unit.

Owner's Response: I was notified by this guest upon there arrival of the problems with the cleaning. I apologized to Ms Rode and asked them to contact the management company as they were there to address this and any other issue that may arise. I followed up with the guest to see if there issues had been addressed, and when notified that they were not I called the local management company and asked them to go back again and clean the unit properly. The gift cards were In fact a small token for the issues that were experienced. The cable company is Spectrum, formally Time Warner. We have not experienced any issues with this service provider before, other then normal outages that are not within our control. I was notified that the city was needing to repair some city water lines within the Planation and that the water would be turned off during a specific time and I notified the guest. I was not notified concerning the city not completing the repairs and was not aware of any additional downtime until later that next day. I apologize for the bad experiences you had staying at our unit. This is not what you nor any one else should expect while traveling away from home . This is also atypical of the experiences of any prior guests who have stayed with us in the past as demonstrated by the 5 star rating we have received by all but one other guest who gave us a 4 star.
