This 2,200 square-foot, 3 bedroom/2 bath home was originally built in 1903, but recently renovated and modernized by a master Craftsman. About Damon Rogers

I'm Matthew Rogers, and I am a designer/brand strategist exploring a nomadic creative lifestyle. After 10+ years of building partnership-based design businesses and working in creative agencies and startups, I began to notice a sense of stagnancy. So, I decided to invest some of the fruits of my hard work into fully renovating and renting out my historic home. I now live and travel full time in a 31-foot RV with my dog (Doris-Akin), and daughter (Ryely). Sometimes, you'll find me parked in the backyard if you need anything!

My home is a labor of love and I'm honored to share it with you. I am a 7th Generation Franklinite and co-owner of Rogers Homeport with my parents. I come from a military family (GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!) and my father served over 30 years as a disquished Naval Officer. Together, we own and operate 3 beautiful and unique properties all located in the heart of Downtown Franklin, a short walk from everything. You won't find friendly folks to welcome you to our little city and show you the best spots to go. We are true locals with hospitable Southern charm.

Damon Rogers purchased this house in 2009

Why Damon Rogers chose Franklin

I am an artist and a designer passionate about aesthetic, but I am equally passionate about being eco-conscious - so I took great care in repurposing almost all the original materials into something new and installing green fixtures and appliances where possible.

The house was 105 years old when I purchased it in 2009 and the red oak wood that supports it was 200 years old when the trees were cut down. It is truly a one-of-a-kind home decorated with art from local artists as well as some of my own work. The halls are filled with found objects, pictures of my family and loved ones, and a variety of interesting antiques, fossils and trinkets. I was a picker by the age of 12 and it shows.

What makes this house unique

The home is centrally located to all that Downtown Franklin has to offer: Franklin Square, the public library, the Carter House, a new park near a historic civil war attraction, a great sushi spot, and a lively local bar with the best burgers. Mere blocks away are antique stores and the Harpeth River canoe launch.

I have absolutely loved living on this quiet, quaint little street full of friendly neighbors and beautiful scenery - and I know you'll love it too.

Whether you need a 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom, or a studio apartment, we've got you covered!

The owners of General's Charge have gone above and beyond all requirements to ensure a great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this property is special. The beds are very comfortable, the showers are awesome, the furniture and lighting are all extraordinary. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to great dining and shopping in downtown Franklin. And be sure to check out the flooring in the closet of the Master bath! This kind of attention to detail optimizes this property! And all at a more than fair price.

Nice get away close to downtown Franklin

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay and found the home to be clean and comfortable. The proximity to downtown Franklin was the key for us as we like the walk into down to enjoy the shops and restaurants. It was also close to the historical landmarks which we found fascinating on our walks. Nice property.
