Wonderful retreat yet close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

I came to the Barn for a solo retreat and cannot recommend it more highly! Christine, the owner, has appointed the Barn thoughtfully, treating me to Chilmark coffee and other items lovely to have on hand when renting a cottage. From the high ceiling layout to the beautiful and quality linens to the perfect location on one of Martha's Vineyard's most historic streets, it was a dream come true...I will be back!

Couldn't Have Asked for More!

The Vineyard never disappoints. This time our accommodations reflected to perfection the serenity, simplicity and beauty of the island. Christine, our host, added kindness, perspective, and intelligence to the mix. VBRO connected us with an unparalleled lodging experience. The Barn, as we called it, and it's owners far exceeded our hopes and needs.

A perfect location for a quiet yet in-town vacation stay.

  • 5 of 5

My experience this year favorably compared with last year at this sweet cottage tucked in the corner of Christine and Kurt's yard. The cottage is equipped with all the necessary amenities as well as being super clean and lovingly yet simply decorated. Christine is friendly and available but not intrusive and her family is very respectful of having a tenant on the property. My plan is to make this lovely property my "solo" vacation destination in years to come; my husband might decide to join me also as the cottage comfortably accommodates two adults.

More than 5 Stars in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

Everything about our stay and the property was perfect. From my first contact with Christine to the last, she was a perfect host and then some. She left Vineyard goodies for us, plenty of information, and an exquisite property. Charm abounds and the location couldn't be better. I would be back in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

This property is ideal for a couple's get away. Everything is as described, and just a bit better. The finishes and details in this converted barn are excellent--quality bedding and towels, wonderful adirondak chairs in the back yard, local coffee to get you started, and very, very clean. This is no beach cottage furnished with garage sale seconds--it's designed and well appointed. It's also got a bit of history as it's behind a historic home associated with the whaling captains from back in the day. The location is great; just a block or two to Main Street, Vineyard Haven. The owner is helpful and welcoming. There is no cable TV, but there are DVDs and wifi. We brought an apple TV and watched Netflix. You can't go wrong with this converted barn in Vineyard Haven!

Wonderful getaway retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for a getaway by myself in my favorite vacation destination. The cottage was clean, sunny, and tastefully decorated; cozy yet open and airy, situated in just the right location for me in Vineyard Haven. Although a street away from Main St., it was quiet and private with a lovely back yard which I enjoyed from the deck; a great place for reading on a sunny day. My host, Christine, was helpful, gracious and more than accommodating, especially after I was involved in an accident in town and needed extra assistance for a few days. This said, I also felt very tucked away and not at all intruded upon by the family. I'm looking forward to scheduling my next MV vacation at this cottage next Fall.
