Welcome to The Bay Beach Embassy!

A 3 bedroom/3 bathroom multi-level home with views of the Apalachicola Bay from every room, The Embassy offers a natural and peaceful setting where you can escape the stresses of everyday living.

The first level offers the main gathering space for the family. The open living area boasts a large, flat panel TV w/ DVD player and stereo, a dining table for 4 with additional seating for 4 at the breakfast bar, and a fully equipped kitchen. A bedroom with King bed is located just off of the living room and has access to a furnished covered deck. A laundry closet with stacked washer/dryer is accessible thru this bedroom, and a full bathroom is available for easy access and convenience.

The second level houses the remaining two bedrooms. The Queen bedroom has a private bathroom with shower, a daybed/trundle for additional sleeping space, and access to the screened deck. Across the hall is a King bedroom with futon, private bathroom with jetted tub and access to the screened deck. The upper screened deck is an old-style Florida sleeping porch where many a warm night with cool breeze has been enjoyed. From this 40'x12' "deck in the treetops", you can enjoy unobstructed and exquisite water and sunset views. You will be at home with nature and may be blessed with sightings of bald eagles, herons, ospreys, owls, egrets, pelicans and the other local wildlife that frequently visit!

The surrounding grounds and lush vegetation give you the sense of being on your own Island oasis where you can relax and "let go". A sense of renewal is often cited to be experienced in this beautiful and natural setting. A park style charcoal grill, enclosed outside hot/cold shower and shaded lanai are just a few more of the outside features to enjoy. A short stroll along the beaten path will take you to the Bayshore sitting area and community dock.

The Embassy is Bayfront but is uniquely situated at a narrow point on the Island which allows for only a 3-5 minute walk to the expansive Gulf side beach. Heron Bay, the village where the home is located, was originally a sandy cove and the unusual topography of this narrow island location provides unsurpassed Bay and Sunset views from the north side of the home. From the south side of the home, there is a direct path to the community beach boardwalk and miles of sugar sand beach. Guests have named the Embassy's two beaches: "The Little Beach" (Bayside), where you can sit on the bay deck or community dock and sip your morning coffee or walk along the shores at low tide; and "The Big Beach" (Gulfside), where you can sink your toes in the sand and enjoy a dip in the cool Gulf waters, or walk West to Bob Sike's Cut for fishing or to watch the shrimp boats come in with dolphin trailing behind.

The Embassy is not your typical "cookie cutter" rental home, but is fully equipped and furnished as a private home with a personal touch to include the homeowner's vintage furniture, art and other unique objects collected during their many world travels.

The Embassy is located inside the St. George Plantation, a private gated community at the West End of St. George Island. The St. George Plantation community considers itself a Nature Preserve and is an excellent location for bird watching or enjoying the local wildlife. They offer their guests a state of the art 10,000 square foot Clubhouse with fitness center, community swimming pool, tennis courts and miles of paved bike and walking paths. The 24/7 security staff is stationed at the entrance gate and patrols the 17 miles of roads for your safety and security. Access to Bob Sike's Cut is located at the far west end of Plantation, where you can fish off the jetties and see Little St. George Island across the water. For those so inclined, a 3,200 foot landing strip is also available for public use.

About Forgotten Shores Properties

The Embassy, also known as the Bay Beach Embassy or the Sunset Beach Embassy, was built in 1999 as an island escape for the Windham Family. It was featured in the Tallahassee Democrat Parade of Homes in 2004 and since then has been enjoyed by family ad many dear friends and guests.

We've been coming to SGI for a number of years having had the privilege to stay at the Bay Beach Embassy for the last few. What a treat it is to escape winter in WI and enjoy all that SGI, the Plantation and the Embassy have to offer. The house is beautiful with three master suites, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, beautiful decks, outdoor grill and fish cleaning station. The Bay shore is a great place to enjoy a cocktail, spectacular sunset or try your hand at fishing. It's a short walk to the Gulf to see a beautiful sunrise if you are inclined to get up early, or walk on the beach, do some shelling, fish the cut or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Wonderful weekend

Very nice house. We really enjoyed our Labor Day weekend. We could have used a few more bath towels and kitchen could have had better pots and pans and dish towels. Other than that it was an awesome place

Wonderful property and location.

We had an amazing time and the location couldn't be better. The home was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is good for.basic cooking, tough for serious meals. We did have challenges with the AC, but the property management addressed quickly and added a night to our stay to compensate for the inconvenience.
