Have An Amazing Seattle Experience Aboard Lake Union's Most Unique Houseboat

My brand new houseboat, "Fuhgetaboutit", as featured on the Travel Channel, offers a one-of-a-kind Seattle experience. The boat is approximately 750sf, with one bedroom, a bunk-room with 2 single bunks, bath, shower, tub, large living area\kitchen, and sleeps 7. It also has two small decks on the first floor. The slip will give you unobstructed views of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline. The huge rooftop deck runs the entire length of the 50' boat and is perfect for BBQing, sharing meals, cocktails, and relaxation all while taking in the fantastic view. There is also a sink and fridge on the deck. Built in 2015, the houseboat is equipped with every modern convenience, such as stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, 3 burner electric stove top, convection microwave, dishware and cooking utensils, 46" HD TV, bedroom TV, Apple TV, free WiFi, and Sonos sound system throughout, including the rooftop deck.

If you're looking for a Seattle experience that you'll never forget, then you should seriously consider "Fuhgetaboutit"!

Great Views, Unique Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We flew in from out of state for the Adele concert and stayed three nights on Fuhgetaboutit wanting privacy and a little adventure to wrap up our time week in Seattle. Overall it was a good rental experience and I would recommend it for a romantic weekend getaway with great city views and a relaxing vibe, especially if you enjoy boats/boating/water activities like paddle boarding or just watching the sea planes take off. We ventured out and ate at several restaurants on Lake Union, and the location isn't far from downtown if you need to make a trip to the glass museum or Pikes Market. (by car) The owner was very helpful and even let us check in a couple of hours early when we were switching between rentals during our trip.

Things to consider. This is a boat on a busy lake. The pier parking was nearly nonexistent when we were there related to construction. There is a parking pass, but NOT a reserved space. Luckily, we used Uber, but if I had a rental car, I would have been pretty frustrated. This is not a rental for you if you have a bunch of luggage or like a luxury experience. Its perfect if you can pack light and there are no mobility issues getting down from parking lot, wooden pier and onto the boat. There is a Starbucks, and a Subway within a reasonable walking distance as well as a few small ice and beer type grocery places that serve the dock and surrounding marine businesses, but plan on needing a car to get out of the dock/industrial area OR bring supplies to mostly stay put! Ideally, probably the latter.

We felt a little mixed about the nightly rate. On one hand, you are in a dock next to small yachts and other boats in what is clearly a prime location. Plus you are on a houseboat! How awesome is that!? However, it is a boat with things like, you are sitting in the living area enjoying the view and a boat pulls up with a guy connecting a hose to the boat to pump out the sewage from the water and flushing. Or, the pier gate was often left open (not by us) and so random people would suddenly be standing next to the boat taking in the views. At least two asked us if we owned or it was a rental assumably wondering about renting it, and everyone is friendly but it takes away from the privacy.

Also, because the owner lives on the boat/stays there some of the time (?) the small fridge was 1/2 full of his food and wine leaving less space for our groceries. Coffee maker and some areas could have been a little cleaner. A/C in bedroom didnt work.

Super chic and fun place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Super chic and fun place to stay! We loved it! We used the boat for a "stay-cation". We only live 5 minutes away but it was so fun to be on the lake all week-end. The boat is nicely furnished and has an amazing top deck for hanging out and enjoying the view. I brought lots of magazines and books and never opened them as it was so fun to just watch the constant activity moving by from SUPs, kayaks, electric boats, floating planes, yachts, and the occasional crazy party boats. We lucked out with warm weather and enjoyed jumping in the water and using the SUPs we brought with us constantly. It hit 90 degrees one day- super hot for Seattle- but we stayed cool as the boat has air conditioning and we could jump in the lake to cool off if we were hanging out on top. My teenage kids actually slept on the top deck every night and enjoyed sleeping under the stars. We walked to Portage Bay for breakfast every morning, had picnic lunches on the deck and found great restaurants on the lake for dinner. It was the best stay-cation we've ever had! I highly recommend the boat if you are looking for something fun and unique. Jay is super accommodating and helpful! Enjoy!

Cozy and Romantic

  • 4 of 5

The view from this property of the Seattle skyline is spectacular! We were on our honeymoon and couldn't have had a romantic setting. The houseboat is located near many of the main attractions downtown. We used Uber to get around. The owner was helpful in providing restaurant recommendations, and when we asked about places for spa services, he came through with those as well. We enjoyed the top deck, and the built in lounge chairs were very comfortable. We went to Pike's Market for fresh seafood and vegetables to bring back to cook a couple of the nights were were there and were a little disappointed in the BBQ. It would have been nice to have a bigger, better BBQ.

Picturesque Seattle from the water - an unforgettable experience!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing houseboat – we had a fantastic couple days on the Fuhgetaboutit! Located in a perfect spot on Lake Union – away from the hustle and bustle with incomparable views across the bay, uninterrupted and stunning!

We live in Seattle but it felt like we went on vacation to a different city as we have never seen Seattle from this perspective. We felt part of an exclusive club that not many people know about.

At the end of a private dock, the Fuhgetaboutit is a very spacious house on the water with every amenity you could want, (there is a even a small dishwasher in the kitchen) plus there is Wifi. The interior is modern and minimal, very tastefully decorated. We all slept really well as the beds are very comfortable and the gentle rocking of the boat was very soporific. There were four of us, two adults and two teens; we didn’t feel on top of each other as you might imagine because there is plenty of space.

I think the best feature, and one that is quite unique, is the roof deck – it is huge with built in loungers, seating and a table perfect for entertaining. You are surrounded up there by the spectacular view that you can only get living on the water and it is magnificent day and night!

We brought paddle boards with us and spent a lot of the time just paddling around lake Union. Crew teams sped by and float planes took off every now and then but it was nothing but peaceful and fascinating viewing. The kids really enjoyed jumping into the lake off the top deck, (which was okayed by the owner), they had wetsuits on as the water in March is still pretty cold. We will definitely be back as it was a unique and memorable experience and I would highly recommend it!
