Adorable Farmhouse on Four Acres with Million Dollar Views!

Bedrooms 1
Space 92 m²
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

The farmhouse was totally renovated in 2015 and has new bathroom with a large rain head shower. The kitchen was remodeled with new appliances as well as a new water heater and new HVAC. The farmhouse has 100 year old reclaimed beams from a tobacco barn in Virginia. Although quiet and somewhat secluded, it is only a ten minute drive to downtown Franklin with all its restaurants and antique shops. It is only a 30 minute drive to Highlands and many other small towns in the area eg. Waynesville, Asheville, Dillsboro, and Dillard and Clayton, GA.

About Alex Pringle

My wife, Susan, and I live in Florida, but we have been coming to Franklin, NC, for many years because we love the location and the people are so friendly. We have been married for 28 years. I am an ex-professional soccer player born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Susan is a native Floridian and has worked as a paralegal her entire career.

Alex Pringle purchased this farmhouse in 2014

Why Alex Pringle chose Franklin

We purchased this property primarily because of the central location and the awesome mountain views.

Clean and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The road to the house was very smooth, Thanks

The weather was COLD. Enjoyed watching the flag fly in the 30MPH+ wind, It was tattered and torn. Read all of your Louis La Mour books and most of the John Grisham ones that I had not already read. We saw 6 deer and thousands of birds and one fat squirrel in the back yard. It was just what we needed, a relaxing weekend.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway for our 25th anniversary! The farmhouse is clean, perfectly decorated and cozy! We had snow, so that added was an added bonus to our restful long weekend. It’s perfectly equipped for cooking, or close enough to Franklin, Dillard, or Clayton for eats. We needed some quiet time and this place provided exactly what we needed. Wonderful stay! Will return!

Amazing vacation!! We will definitely be back next year!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored this house!! We stayed with our 4 kids all of which are under the age of 7. This was the best vacation I can remember ever taking. We all loved this house and the view. The trail behind the house was awesom and the kids loved it! I can’t wait to book for next year!!

Absolutely Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We were there Oct. 31 through Nov. 3rd and it turned out to be peak time for mountain splendor. Trees were beautiful and weather was perfect. We didn't even have to drive around to see the beauty. Just had to rock on the front porch or sit on the patio or around the fire pit or sit in the house and look out any window. The little house is very charming and beautiful and lovingly done. We would like to go back in the spring. Little town of Franklin was great and very quiet during the weekdays and in the off season. Nothing could have improved the experience.

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful cabin for our third anniversary and absolutely loved it. The cabin was so well decorated, clean, and had most anything you could ask for regarding a vacation stay. The views of the mountains in the distance were wonderful, as were the deer and birds that frequented the cabin yard. The trail behind the cabin that led to a breathtaking view was an additional bonus. We loved the location and being able to travel into historic Franklin, Clayton, Tiger, Dillard, and Highlands so easily. If you make the short trip into Clayton, make sure to eat at Forifty Kitchen and Bar- it is so worth it!!! My wife and I also loved the zip lining experience in Scaly Mountain that was just down the road - we zip lined over 1200 ft at 50+ mph and were able to see the Smokey Mts!!! We honestly have no complaints- we were so in love with the place we stayed in, and the amenities and location it provided. I read some reviews about the driveway and it being a con, but we didn't mind it. It is what we expected going into the mountains and is well worth going up for the view. Just take it slow and you'll be fine. Finally, Alex was so helpful and informative and we really appreciated that. If you are considering this area to getaway, you are missing out if you don't stay here... it's truly wonderful.

I loved this house from the time I saw it from the bottom of the hill. As we were going up the hill we saw 5 deer. What a beautiful welcome! Everything about this place says 'WELCOME'. Susan and Alex have made this a perfect oasis. The view from that porch is so heavenly and the inside is so warm and inviting! Wished I could of stayed the whole month. Thanks Alex and Susan for sharing your home with us. Bill and Jeanene

The farmhouse is located about 10 minutes from Main Street Franklin, 20 minutes from Clayton, GA, and about 30 minutes to Highlands. We recommend the Sunset for breakfast, Gazebo for lunch, and Root and Barrel, Café Rel and Thai Paradise for dinner in Franklin. Mulligan's is a local sports pub with good food. A day trip up Highway 64 past the lakes and waterfalls to Highlands is a must see drive. If you are looking for antiques, there are several good antique shops in Franklin, Dillard and Clayton. The nearby area has a lot of great hiking trails for you to explore. You can also enjoy zip lining and sledding in the winter in Scaly Mt.
