Why Amy Barnsley chose Alaska

We love where we live and are happy to share this property and our knowledge of the area. Fairbanks is an amazing place. Staying at the Fairbanks Aurora Haus will make your visit so comfortable. The location is great, just a five minute drive to the university and restaurants but away from the busy streets of town. The washer and dryer and fully stocked kitchen are just what many travelers need.

What makes this house unique

The views of the aurora in the winter are outstanding. The Aurora Haus house is located next to an open field that provides an unobstructed views when the northern lights are out. Our lovely little guest house is perfect for small families who want more room than a hotel, like to have a full kitchen and laundry available.

Perfect Property - Loved It!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved this property. We stayed for 3 nights. There is loads of space, the kitchen area large, the sitting area perfect, and the bedroom just right. We could not have asked for anything more. The location is very good for exploring the Greater Fairbanks area such as the historic downtown, Creamer's Field, and nearby towns like Fox and Ester. There is a grocery store to pick up breakfast and lunch picnic items. One evening we grilled chicken on the gas grill provided on the back deck. Sitting outside in the evening was very relaxing. Although there is constant daylight, the shade is good. The view of the large pasture like yard was excellent, even though no wild life emerged from the trees. We discovered upon arrival that there is a grass landing area for small airplanes next to the property. One airplane took off just as we arrived. We saw no others during the rest of our visit. It would get a little warm inside the house but the window shades worked well. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable as well as bathroom. The property is located in a residential area a short drive to the University. We took a walk around the grounds and found our way on one of the side streets. We felt safe the entire time. Thank you for contributing to a memorable Alaskan vacation.

10 wonderful nights. Clean. Furnished nicely. Ample parking. Nice deck. Quiet and we enjoyed the Sandhill Crane that was a daily visitor. Our contact person Ben was very helpful and the cleaning lady kept the beautiful floral container growing nicely.

Also we enjoyed seeing the Muskox in the persevere close by associated with the University of Alaska.

We love the country and loved the Aurora house. Highly recommend this VRBO.

Very private, cute, comfortable cabin/cottage.

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my parents for 5 days. We were in Fairbanks to attend a wedding. The cabin was easy to find, within minutes of the airport, grocery stores, restaurants and better yet, within easy driving to the beautiful interior surroundings. Just lovely and highly recommended! You are in the woods but not isolated. Perfect!

Beautiful, secluded and quaint home in Fairbanks!!!

  • 5 of 5

This home was PERFECT for two people and we had everything that we needed. The owners were fantastic and were very easy to get a hold of to confirm everything!! The views were impeccable and it was close to town but far enough you didn't feel like you were in the city. I WILL be coming back again. If you want a home in a beautiful location and can truly be your home away from home, stay here!!
