About the property

Lakeview, fishing, boating and swimming nearby, fully equipped kitchen, grilling

Shady Acres Resort is a unique home quietly nestled on six acres of wooded land overlooking the lake. You can watch peaceful sunsets as well as the ferry crossing the lake. The newly remodeled 1,600 square foot A-frame has three bedrooms, two queen beds downstairs and one king bed in the loft above the common living area. It has three full baths. The master bath has a whirlpool tub, while the middle bath has a five foot walk-in shower with an LED colored rain head. The third bath has a shower, a washer and dryer.

Bull Shoals Lake at Peel is a calm, clean part of the lake with relatively little water traffic and great fishing. The Hwy 125 marina just a mile away provides boat rentals. You can launch your own kayak, bass boat, sailboat, pontoon, or party barge for a $3 fee. The auto ferry on Hwy 125 is located between the Buck Creek Marina on the north shore and the HWY 125 Marina on the south shore of the lake. The scenic views on both sides of the lake make Hwy 125 a favorite route for motor cycle travelers. Relax on our large back deck where you can view the comings and goings of the ferry from a quiet, sheltered retreat.

Activities such as swimming, fishing, and boating are available at the parks and marinas on either side of the lake. There is also public access for swimming and fishing available on the coves near the Peel Ferry 1.5 miles away. Tim Ernst hiking guides provided will direct you to nearby places of natural beauty.

Accommodations include an open concept living area with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The living room seats 6 to 8 comfortably. A wide deck runs the entire length of the house and has two patio tables with seating for eight. The grill located under the gazebo at one end has tools and additional seating.

Amenities include towels and extra sheets for all beds. Hair dryers, flat irons, soap/ shampoo dispensers, iron with board, laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided. Beach towels and bags are also provided to reduce the number of items you must pack along. HD TV and HD DVD player are 3-D compatible. A selection of DVDs and VHS tapes are available. A bout a dozen local and network TV channels are available. The kitchen has a fully stocked coffee bar and a freezer full of ice blocks for your coolers or the ones we provide. Child safety features on wall sockets, appliances, stairways, and doors. Toddler toys and a pack-n-play available.

Supplies for fishing can be secured at the marina a mile from the house. The local Peel Post Office is 3 miles from the house. For groceries and incidentals we recommend the town of Lead Hill, AR located about a 20 minute drive from the house. Larger cities within a 1 hour radius include Harrison, AR and Mountain View, AR and Branson, MO.

Entertainment nearby includes theme parks, dining, and shows in Branson just 1 hour North. There is also a free festival in Yellville (40 minutes to the Southeast), Music on the Square starting every second Saturday at 7:00 p.m. from May through September. The Buffalo River provides white water canoeing and kayaking within a 1 hour drive. Other attractions in the area include guided cave tours such as Mystic Caverns and Marble Caves.

About Linda Kondrick

Chickens, geese, cats and dogs populate my 25-acre farm where I spend most of my time in the Ozark Mountains. the greatest joys of my life are my daughter, my two grand sugars and my fur baby, a Zuchon named Bentley. I love to garden, fish, and sail. But I mostly keep busy teaching science education classes at at a state university. This lake home was intended for my retirement home.

Linda Kondrick purchased this house in 2011

Felt like home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Very generous with items to use in cabinets, movies to watch (even 3D glasses). Beds were comfortable. Lots of bathrooms. The back deck was used a lot. Has a grill and gas cooktop. This is a home away from home for the owner and it shows. We'll be back

Beauty and comfort

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year here and walking in felt like home. The beds are comfortable, the cabin is clean. The view is amazing. We brought bird feed this year and FINALLY they started eating it and gave us a good show. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the deck, our evenings watching the sunset, playing games or watching movies. We will be returning!

Loved Shady Acres!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most special stay at Linda's Shady Acres over the holiday. We arrived to Easter decorations outside as well as inside just for our stay. The beds were super soft and comfortable, ceiling fans in each room and plenty of pillows, blankets and anything needed to be comfortable. The kitchen came with everything we needed to cook, prepare and bake, lots of extras like spices, coffee, sugar, napkins, aluminum foil and sandwich bags saving us trips to the store. We spent a lot of time on the deck watching birds, looking at the lake and listening to boats on Bull Shoals Lake. We enjoyed the grill under the gazebo and watching humming birds at the feeder too. Lots of movies to choose from as well as an incredibly thoughtful binder with anything you could imagine to do, visit or eat locally all right there with maps, brochures, hours and any other info you could possibly need. Did I mention this house is only a couple of miles from the ferry crossing? So convenient! When we visit this area again we'll absolutely like to stay again. Thank you so much Linda for the perfect place, Easter was truly wonderful at your place!!
