This amazing property sits high above the valley floor. The vistas are unquestionably some of the most beautiful and dramatic in all of southern Vermont. As the house sits at the top of the ridge, the views from nearly every window are breathtaking to say the least. There are four bedrooms plus a sleeping loft and 2.5 baths. There are several spaces to relax, take in a movie, read or just sit by the two huge windows in the living room while gazing out over 4 ski mountains framed into the green mountains beyond. The sunsets and stargazing are legendary . People have described the view as a feeling of flying in a small plane as they drift high above the valley floor.

The property provides complete privacy on nearly 27 acres of land that is ideal for walking and hiking directly from your front door. The house can comfortably sleep 8-12 people. Three separate floors can also provide the restorative relaxation that only a special home like this can offer. All bed linens and towels are provided and there are laundry facilities in the home. Currently there are two areas to take in a DVD movie and there is internet and WIFI service. Cell phone use is possible with a variety of Cell Phone service providers. There is a deck for outdoor lounging and many places to perch about the home to take in the astonishing views. Hiking trails run through the property and border conservation areas. Though this property offers an escape of COMPLETE PRIVACY, you are just 13 minutes from Vermont interstate 91. The little town of Putney offers a variety of dinning experiences and shops . The neighboring orchard with hundreds of acres, provides many varietals of fruits to pick from and is just minutes away. Brattleboro is just a half hour drive with its lively community and is worth a day trip and more for exploring.

About Mark Goguen and David Gagnon

We believe that the mountains of Vermont have a restorative and healing energy that is so needed from all of our busy lives. We were attracted to this part of Vermont because of its dramatic beauty and its easy access from our home in Massachusetts. We believe that we are only stewards of this amazing property and need to share it with those that have an appreciation for nature and all its offerings.

Why Mark Goguen and David Gagnon chose Putney

This property is filled with dramatic views and provides healing and magical energy. The surrounding valleys with their farm stands, swim holes, antique shops and entertaining venues make this destination one of the most accessible and attractive vacation spots in all of Vermont. With a town of 500 people…. you are sure to meet friendly neighbors where ever you go as no one is in a rush to move the day and if privacy and tranquility is your desire, then you certainly have arrived.

What makes this lodge unique

The views, the views and then there are the views. The home is understated and though a principal player in your Vermont stay… the views are truly the star of the show. Sit back and be prepared to be wowed by its performance.

Its a stunning house in a stunning location, hosted by two of the loveliest people.

  • 5 of 5

The house is perfect for spending good time with friends or family. The layout makes it perfect for playing a game, having conversations or reading off to the side or joining a music jam. And the second family room on the lower level allows another group to watch the Winter Olympics. Mark and David have thoughtfully arranged and decorated so you are constantly stumbling on delights. And they greet you with cookies and a stock of coffee and chocolate. I hope I can make it back soon. We were all smitten.

Oh and then there is the view and whatever majesty mother nature is cooking up from swirling snow to rolling clouds and exceptional sunsets. Its hard to not feel silly and that you're over hyping it when writing a review - but it really is that nice, and Mark and David have made it even more perfect..

An amazing mountain escape with an unbelievable panoramic vista!

  • 5 of 5

This home is among the most enjoyable in which we have stayed. The view is unbelievable. The rooms are very cozy, warm, and well-appointed. If you enjoy trail running, there is a trailhead just 0.5 miles south of where the driveway meets the road. The large outdoor deck with numerous Adirondack chairs is perfect for relaxing on. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of cookware and utensils. Easy access to both the town of Putney and a short drive to Brattleboro for shopping and dining. The owners were very helpful and hospitable. When we arrived there was blueberry cobbler and apple pie waiting for us in the kitchen! We highly recommend this property!!

Stunning Views and A House to Match

  • 5 of 5

This property is a stunner, the pictures do no do it justice. The view from on top of the ridge is fantastic. The house itself is amazing too. Very comfortable, plenty of room for everyone and every room features the great view. The house is also located right off hiking trails, so if you want to go for a hike, and find even better views, just walk down the street. Amazing. Would highly recommend, and will definitely stay here again.

Go Up Up Up The Mountain

  • 5 of 5

The house itself was exactly as described, reviewed, and showed in all the pictures. An amazing beautiful modern home with all the coziness of a mountain lodge.

The pictures of the property, however, DO NOT DO JUSTICE to the wonders of this cliff-side mountain top jaw dropping panorama.

Plenty of open space to have a catch or play in the yard, wonderful view from the fireside, and even a romantic cliff side nook. Just perfecto.
