Newly renovated classic Hawaiian 1930's house with beautiful views of famous Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean. This charming home is perched on a mountain side where you can see colorful rainbows and gorgeous sunsets. The rental is the downstairs of the home with a private entrance. It is in the highly desirable Maunilani Heights, Kaimuki area of Honolulu, a quiet mountainside neighborhood. It is centrally located to downtown, Ala Moana shopping center, movie theater, numerous nearby restaurants, Kahala Mall and Whole Foods market. Waikiki is just 10-12 minutes away and 20 minutes to Hanauma Bay for world-class snorkeling. A fantastic home base to see the island and the most gorgeous beaches in the world. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a tropical feel and vintage Hawaiian accessories. The living area has a queen bed and a sofa twin bed, the master bedroom a king bed with an ocean and garden view. The two areas can be completely closed off from one another. This home is equipped with everything you need, truly a home away from home! The kitchen is fully stocked with all conveniences as well as an new outdoor barbecue. For your entertainment, the living room has a 40” Sony HD LED Flat Screen TV and a Sony DVD player and sound bar, WiFi is included. You can watch Netflix with your own account, Showtime Channel is included with Direct TV. Stay comfortable with ceiling fans in the main areas and also available is an air conditioner for a charge of $12.00 a day. A brand new washer and dryer is provided right off the kitchen for your beachwear and towels. There is an upstairs patio where you can have your wine and watch the sunset looking over the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head Crater. The patio is outside my front door and not directly connected to the rental space. Recreational gear like boogie boards, umbrella, beach chairs, towels and cooler are all included.

A car is recommend (one designated parking spot in the driveway) if you don't rent a car, bus access is very close.

Every detail was considered to make your Hawaii vacation a lasting memory.

I was born and raised in Southern California. When I was eight years old my parents brought my brother and me to Hawaii for our first vacation. When I got off the airplane I fell in love with the scent of flowers in the air. Soon I was playing on a white sand beach and warm waves danced around me. Since that early time I dreamt of someday living in paradise. I had the opportunity to move to Oahu in 2009 and have savored each moment I have spent on this beautiful island embraced by its aloha spirit. I especially love Oahu for it's natural beauty, welcoming white sand beaches, museums, fantastic shopping and great restaurants. Aloha!

This house is AMAZING!!!

From the moment we walked through the front door, we felt at home! Sandy has made a point to make her home your home. She has concentrated on everything down to the littlest of details. Oh, and the bed was super comfortable. She communicates consistently when asked questions, or if you accidentally lock your keys in the house... THANKS Sandy. I’d say we will be back, but sadly you are moving. Hopefully our paths will cross again. AGAIN.... THANKS for everything. MAHALO! ✈️🤗🤙🏼🏝🏖

Very clean and modern with great amenities. Great location.

We loved our stay and Sandy was a gracious host. Was beneficial using her sponsorship of us at the Outrigger Canoe Club. We registered as guest members for $30 for the week taking advantage of free Parking and enjoying Mai Tais as we sat in the outside lounge. Sandy’s downstairs unit was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. Modern and well appointed furnishings. Patio deck overlooking Diamond Head was a great respit for cocktails. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great rental unit

We really enjoyed our stay in Sandy's rental unit. It was A very clean and comfortable unit. The location is great for easy and quick acesss to highways used to visit all parts of the island. We bbq'd supper several nights so use of of bbq was great. Several grocery stores were within a 5 minute drive. Most evenings we enjoyed a drink on the patio, the view is fantastic.

Sandy is a very gracious host and is willing to accommodate as much as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone.

Great location. Immaculate. Beautifully decorated. Has everything you would need.

We had a great stay at sandy’s beautiful home. The location was great, being a short drive from the business of Waikiki and having an awesome view of diamond head. The home was pristine and very comfortable. The AC unit that was available to use with a minimal daily charge worked great and we slept very well. Everything you would want to enjoy your time on the island was available; including, beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, snorkeling gear... We would highly recommend Sandy’s home:)

Very nice condo with nice amenities

The property is very nice, nicely decorated, quiet with wind. It has nice amenities. The property is centrally located. It is high above the city but Google maps helped me to get around quite nicely. There are a number of very nice but popular restaurants near by but away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.

You didn't mention anything in your review and I am always looking to improve. You mentioned when you left that you thought I have too many pillows and the shower didn't seem right. I checked the shower and there is a valve on the side to change the flow. I turned it and it works great. Please let me know your thoughts ... Sandy Brian's response... Sandy, I thought your property was very nice. The comment about the pillows was mostly a joke. I guess I must have missed the valve on the side in the shower. In my engineering manner I don't usually give anyone a perfect 5 unless it has to do with their job performance. I would come back without any hesitation. For me the accommodation was just fine. I should have also mentioned that I was very appreciative of you accommodating my schedule problems. Thanks. Brian

A Kamaaina returns

Having grown up in this neighborhood, I appreciated the convenient location. It is close to a wonderful selection of ethnic restaurants in Kaimuki, shops at the Kahala mall and the beach at Kaimana. I had business downtown which was only 15 minutes away. The apartment is elegantly decorated with attractive furnishings. It feels very private and comfortable. The A/C worked well for warm afternoons. My only hesitation in giving five stars is that I want openings to return next year!

Sandy was a kind and accommodating host. Mahalo to her.

To keep my nightly rate as low as possible I offer air conditioning for an extra charge of of $12.00 a day. Please let me know if you would like air conditioning and I will add it to your quote otherwise you can wait and decide on a day to day basis which can be paid in cash.
Here in Hawaii our housekeepers charge between $25-$35 per hour. The time it takes to properly clean the space as well as all the linens is 7 hours. All linens including blankets are washed each time a guest departs. Most rentals only wash the blankets every other month. I actually pay the extra cleaning charges for out of the rental profit.
If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent are not refunded.
Christmas/Holiday cancelations must be made a full 45 days in advance to receive a 50% refund.
This rental unit is privately owned; the owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occur while on the premises or its facilities. The homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By booking this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm or injury arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
