Charming Cottage With 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 3 Outside Decks, Screened in Porch
About Chris Peterson
Ernie and I retired to Saugatuck from Nebraska 10 years ago and have loved every minute. There is so much to do and enjoy. We drive through town and say "I can't believe we live here". Restaurants, shopping, boating, hiking, sight-seeing, plays, art.....it goes on and on.
Chris Peterson purchased this House in 2013
Why Chris Peterson chose Saugatuck
If you love the cottage experience, you will love Big Blue. It is a 1930's home that has been updated but still has that cottage feeling. All wood floors, walnut walls, a country style kitchen and screened in porch are part of the quaintness. There are 3 deck areas in the back under the huge pine trees for you to enjoy. Saugatuck is 5 blocks away....a short walk through the old neighborhoods.

We love dogs so allow them at our rentals. We don’t love to pick up after them. Please pick up their potties or we will do it for a fee of $25.00.
Everyone loves to visit Oval Beach with its beautiful sans beaches. Please leave the sand there☺️ If it does come home on towels, please shake outsid

Excellent Cottage-Walk to Everything
This property is exactly as pictured. It was clean, and very well situated so that we could easily walk to shops and restaurants.
We have been coming to Saugatuck for years, knew our way around, and chose this cottage based on location. Renters should be aware that this is an old cottage with very steep stairs to upstairs bedrooms, and people with mobility limitations would need to sleep in the down stairs bedroom. Not a problem or us but worth noting for others.
This is our second time here. Love it, especially the screened in porch. Easy access to the town. Thank you Big Blue!!
The house was clean and comfortable, esp. the front screened in porch! We had many quiet hours there.
Charming & convenient
Situated on a lovely street just a short walk or ride down the hill to town. Worked well for our family of four plus pup. Highlight was having morning coffee on the screened porch and catching a breeze. Even saw some playful deer out front in the early a.m. We loved Oval beach, the art barn, and strolling the shops & galleries around Saugatuck & Douglas. Easy communication with the host.
Thank you for the nice review! That is exactly how we want our guests to feel. We also have seen the deer stroll down the driveway. Come back soon to Saugatuck.
Great stay in Saugatuck
Chris was fantastic to work with. She was incredibly responsive and helpful, both before we arrived in Saugatuck, while we were there and even afterward, mailing me something that I had forgotten. In addition, the house had a great location- just a quick walk to town and in a very cute neighborhood. We loved the screened in porch and the big back yard and deck.
We did find the house to be a bit outdated- in need of some new kitchen items like medium sized pans and a new can opener- and because the owner doesn't recycle, we had to bag our recyclables up and take them to be recycled via our car- but overall, our stay was a pleasure
Great family vacation
We had a wonderful stay with our 3 kids (5 and under) and dog. Location is fantastic. It is at the top of the hill so we got our workout in with our wagon. The stairs are a bit precarious for little ones and dogs. The yard is beautiful and our kids loved getting to spread out and play ball.
