Das Peach Pit offers a great central location to all things you could want in the Asheville area! Affordable and comfortable! 10 miles from downtown Asheville.

We opened our doors to vacation guests for the first time in June of 2015 but we've been landlords for this former long term rental (and others in Avl) for the past 25 years. We are a LEGALLY ZONED, permitted and insured short term rental, south of downtown Asheville in a cluster of historic homes. Newly renovated and furnished (2015) ground level apartment with plenty of natural light. This space feel like a cozy loft. Open the doors of this former carriage space on the first level of our home onto a modern living area with brick walls and freshly painted concrete floors softened with natural jute rugs. The exposed copper pipes complete the urban loft feel.

*The living room provides you with comfortable seating and a 42" HDTV with local HD network stations, Netflix, HuluPlus, Pandora and a Bluray DVD for your viewing and listening pleasure.

*A Bluetooth speaker is available to access your own music library.

*The premium BeautyRest Queen bed with luxury linens is bed bug protected and tucked behind a 3/4 wall for privacy and a dresser is available to unpack your bags.

*A handcrafted white pine slab and pipe desk awaits your laptop which will have access to high speed WiFi should you need to conduct business during your stay. Ask about printer access.

* Fluffy white towels are stocked in the bathroom along with cruelty free, goat milk bath products by Beekman 1802. Stall shower-no tub.

*Our fully equipped kitchen provides everything you need to cook meals and includes intimate seating for two or enjoy an evening on the private patio grilling up a romantic meal on the charcoal grill.

*Keep a mean game of Scrabble going on the refrigerator while you cook.

*Bed linens are provided for a third guest on a premium twin air mattress with built in pump (by request).

*We live across the street from a 1 acre park so bring your frisbee!

About Elisa Petree

Transplants from Southern California in 1992 we have loved raising our family in the Asheville area. Our eldest, a daughter (24) was married in 2015 and lives in Minneapolis with her husband. Our 21yo son lives and works in Asheville and we have a 13yo soccer fanatic son at home with us. Tim is a licensed General Contractor and Catastrophic Insurance Adjuster. Elisa is an artist/art teacher and stay at home mom. We have restored multiple historic properties in the Asheville area over the last 24 years including a condemned house in the Montford Historic District for which Tim won the prestigious Griffin Award for historic preservation in 2004. Our commitment to faithful restoration is apparent in this property which we fully remodeled and restored inside in 2003 and are gradually restoring on the exterior. While we are new to VRBO we are not new to rental property. We have been landlords for several long term rentals in the area for 24 years, including this apartment, so we know how this rental thing works. We love both stimulating and laid back conversation with our friends and appropriate mood music (we can't live without our Bose SoundDock), good food (esp Mexican) and craft beer and wine. Our love of the outdoors takes us to California's Yosemite National Park for camping every summer and to our family condo on the Gulf Coast as often as we can get there. We enjoy hiking and biking and late night fire pits. We can point you to the usual and the unusual spots in Asheville so just ask. We can make a church recommendation if that's important to you. We attend a come-as-you-are downtown church with great music and you are always welcome to join us. We think we have the best friends in the world and we especially love making new ones. We look forward to your visit!

Why Elisa Petree chose Asheville Area

We lived in the Montford Historic District in downtown Asheville from 1992-2003. We restored a beautiful Arts and Crafts home that still holds our hearts to this day (If you want to Google it, it's called the Keyhole House, named for its unique sunroom windows). We relocated to this house in 2003 to reduce the commute to our children's school. We lived in the house while we renovated for the first 6 months after we moved in, including being without a kitchen for 5 mo. And we had a 5th and 3rd grader and a newly walking one year old baby! We've enjoyed our proximity to the school and the surrounding area has continued to grow and become a very convenient location to live. We love our large front porch and the views of the park across the street. "Das Peach Pit" is a nod to our house's moniker, "Das Peach Haus" named after my husband's life long nickname "Peach".

What makes this apartment unique

We are centrally located between Asheville (10 miles to the south slope of downtown) and Hendersonville right off of Hendersonville Rd/US25 and Airport Rd.

Easy access to I-26, the Asheville Regional Airport, Sierra Nevada Brewery, Blue Ridge Parkway and the Asheville Outlet Mall, French Broad River, NC Arboretum, hiking and biking trails in Bent Creek and DuPont State Forest,

Travel times to downtown vary with the seasons but Biltmore Estate/Village (8 miles) is generally reached in 15 min and the south slope of downtown Asheville in 20 min.

We can provide daytime pet sitting and arrange shuttle services to and from the airport/downtown for additional fees.

We can also arrange for a trail guide (both hiking and biking). If you desire to try out the biking trails we can help you arrange bike rental.

Please communicate your desires to us and we will help make sure your stay in the Asheville area is the best it can be.

A Lovely Retreat!

My mom, sister, and I took a long weekend trip to Asheville to visit some family friends and enjoy downtown. One of our favorite parts of the getaway was staying in Das Peach Pit. We walked in and fell in love with the decor and atmosphere. It felt like a retreat! The space is beautiful, clean, and extremely well-organized. We had fun enjoying all the amenities we found inside (interesting books, games, coffee, and an abundance of ideas for places to eat and things to do in the area). We drove to downtown Asheville multiple times and it was about a 20 minute drive. We would love to stay at Das Peach Pit again the next time we visit Asheville or Hendersonville!

Wonderful Stay!

Had a wonderful stay for two nights in this beautifully decorated and well appointed apartment. It was exactly as shown in the photos.

I am a stickler for cleanliness and was thrilled to find it meticulously clean! The location is convenient and was an easy trip to AVL and Black Mountain. There are good restaurants and a wonderful coffee shop, The Beehive Coffee Bar, minutes away.

I had a super early flight from AVL and the apartment was 6 minutes from the airport. Fantastic when you're leaving at the crack of dawn.

Thanks Elisa for a great stay. It was easy to see the love and care you put into your property and look forward to a return visit.

Relaxing and welcoming home apartment

I would highly recommend this apartment for couples needing a relaxing weekend in Asheville. When we got there, the owners had it nicely lit with soft welcoming music playing which really set the tone of our weekend. Arden is a nice suburb outside Asheville making a short drive to downtown. It was great to explore outside areas and was close to several activities. The inside of the apartment is nicely decorated with great details to functional storage making the place seem quite spacious. It was nice to have local restaurant suggestions since our arrival was late. The owners are accessible and prompt with texts. It made us feel very welcome. Our next visit will be a few days longer! Perfect for our vacation!

We had a great time at Das Peach Pit! The space was so cute and thoughtfully decorated. Everything we could possibly need was provided! Check in and check out was a breeze, we could tell the owners were pros at this. All in all it was a 10 out of 10 and we would def stay here again!

Wonderful access to all things WNC has to offer! Particularly downtown Asheville, hiking and biking trails on the Blue Ridge Pkwy, NC Arboretum, Bent Creek Experimental Forest and DuPont State Forest where you will see breathtaking waterfalls. Downtown Asheville is a 10 mile drive; a straight shot up Hendersonville Rd (25) which is the main artery connecting all the Asheville area. No directions necessary! We make the drive regularly. Driving times vary depending on the tourist season and time of day. Generally, travel time is about 10 min to the edge of Biltmore Village and Estate entrance and 20 min to the south slope of downtown where you will find the heart of the local brewery district. Downtown Hendersonville is about the same distance in the other direction. We are within a 5-10 min drive of several dozen eating establishments including the dazzling Sierra Nevada Brewery. We are within a 5 min drive of necessity shopping (WalMart, Target, etc) and 10 minutes from the new Asheville Outlet Mall.
