About Jan-Ake Schultz

We moved to Alaska in 2000 and were wonderfully fortunate to acquire this property. After building the cabin and raising Our family here, now is the time to share it with like-minded travelers who will appreciate its unique and magical features

Jan-Ake Schultz purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Jan-Ake Schultz chose Kenai Peninsula

This is no hotel room. If you sit on the deck and read about Alaska Nellie and the sourdoughs who pioneered this great land you will feel and be a part of the story. The Iditarod National Historic Trail runs along the frozen lakefront in winter......

What makes this cabin unique

History- You will pass the 100 Year old historic cabin on the way in, you will travel the gravel footpaths, you will watch the morning lift off the ferns, you will witness and hear the flight of sandhill cranes overhead in season

Most beautiful area and restful accommodations we've ever experienced. Where to go to de-stress

Cabin was so clean, well thought out, and relaxing and peaceful. Property around was beautiful and natural. Green moss and beautiful wildflowers. Woodfired hot tub and sauna and the boats for use all bonuses!!

Lovely getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Everything we were expecting and more. We spent most of our time at the sauna. Thought trains would be bothersome, but only once was it while we were sleeping. It wasn't a big deal. Will be back.

One of the many highlights of our trip!!

  • 5 of 5

I just turned 40 and needed a man-trip, so I recruited 4 other buddies for an epic Alaskan adventure! We used the cabin as home base. We hiked Exit Glacier to the meadows, hiked Ptarmigan Lake Trail, and fished for Halibut 2 days in a row with Crackerjack Charters. We were fortunate with weather, fished 2 days at Montague Island catching over 400 lbs of Halibut with a 70lb, 92lb, and 101lb.

We stayed 3 nights in the Nabesna Cabin and were not disappointed, it was an awesome stay! We used the wood-fired sauna, the wood-fired spa, and the canoes to go out on the lake. The porch, fire chimney, and bbq were a favorite at night. Yes, the train does come by once or twice, but we didn't mind it. Would highly recommend any of the cabins!
