Much of the furniture has been custom made locally with lodge pole pine tree. This property has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and enough sleeping arrangements for 6 guest to spread out comfortably throughout an impressive 1,350 square of living space, making it idea accommodation choice for a family or a group of close friends looking for the ultimate mountain-lake experience.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We absolutely enjoyed our week spent at the cabin. We rented a boat and which made it easy for us to fish each day and go in search of new waterfalls.. After a long day on the water, it was nice to come "home" to the cabin and enjoy all it has to offer. The area is very quiet and the porches provided a great place for meals and enjoying the afternoon rocking or on the swing with an awesome view of the wilderness as I read my book. . Thanks and we look forward to returning soon.

Great home & location

  • 5 of 5

My family & I loved this home. It was so clean & provided plenty of room for the 6 of us. Michelle made it extra special by welcoming us with a plaque at the door with our name, fresh flowers throughout & replied to my inquires very quickly. The home is close to Lake Jocassee which was convenient. We also ventured into parts of North Carolina. Can't say enough good things. We will be back.

Unfortunately not a positive experience

  • 1 of 5

Unfortunately we did not have a positive experience with this house. I've never had this issue with a rental before but my son has a severe/life-threatening peanut allergy, as in mere contact with peanut oil could potentially send him into anaphylaxis. About an hour after we arrived my son was playing with the toys in the house and we noticed peanuts all in the toy containers and on the floor of the guest bedroom, which clearly had not been vacuumed.

Because we had very spotty cell service and were in such a remote location we did not feel comfortable staying with a possible emergency on our hands. Unfortunately we had to book a hotel and pay for three hotel nights in addition to the rental payment we already had made. I was hoping Michelle would be understanding to our situation but she refused to refund our stay. I did get the deposit returned but she kept the remaining payment.

Awesome Mountain/Lake House for 2 families!

  • 5 of 5

We had two families stay at this house and it was just perfect!! The rooms are on separate sides of the house which worked out great to give each other some space. We each had our own bathroom which was wonderful as well. The screened in patio was awesome to BBQ on. The house was clean and modern. Overall, the amenities were awesome. My son has a specific diet so we were able to cook all our meals, everything you could possibly need in a kitchen is there. We were able to do laundry which was great! Though so close to the lake the road doesnt have any sidewalks and people drive pretty fast so it wasnt safe enough to walk but it was only a 2-5 minute drive to the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this home. Lake Jocassee is stunningly beautiful and surprisingly clear. There is alot of hiking around and a ton of waterfalls to splash in. The best part about the stay was having such a wonderful host. There were fresh flowers all over the cabin, personalized greeting plaque and letter, and constant communication. Flexibility was great. What a joy to work with the Carson family! If you arent sure where to stay, stay here, you wont regret it.

Beautiful Home, Very Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit, and just like the first, everything was great. Michelle, the owner, was very responsive, and the house had all the amenities we needed. The addition of the new TV was a welcome one for our kids! The location is perfect for our boating on Lake Jocassee. Thanks for everything Michelle!

pristine clean and very private

  • 5 of 5

They tell you it is well stocked, but just to be sure we brought some things we thought we would need. We could have saved the space, they really did have everything you will need to enjoy yourself. The one thing we didn't realize until we got there was just how private the property is. The property is very secluded and we felt like we were all alone, just us and the beautiful wilderness.
