About Peter Fitzpatrick

This property has been in the Fitzpatrick family for generations. We immigrated in the late 70s early 80s to England then the United States. Our first love was always "home" so we packed up our family , three children by that time and made the big move. We always appreciated the beauty of Doolin and surrounding area . Our brothers and sisters live beside us and all have a great sense of tradition whether it be for the land or the great gift of music. Our little nieces and nephews are county champions in Irish dance and play several instruments a great asset if you want to share with guests coming to our beautiful area.

Peter Fitzpatrick purchased this house in 2013

Why Peter Fitzpatrick chose Doolin

The property is family owned. It was built by Pat Fizpatrick and son Peter finished to a high standard as they are skilled craftsmen in the trades. You can see and feel the Love that went into building this little retreat.

The roof is opened with large windows to the sky and outward to the magnificent scenery ocean mountain and land. It has open plan living areas. If you experience one of those "soft" weather days you can wrap yourself up infront of the fire and feel like your on a peaceful little island.

So warm and wonderful

  • 5 of 5

I made these reservations for a friend, unfortunately she was hit by hurricane Irma and fell and broke her foot and had to cancel. Mr. Fitzgerald was so wonderful and refunded her money. She is heartbroken and once she recovers will be reserving this house again.

Sunsets and Cliffs to Die For

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location for exploring the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, etc. Superb, very-new home with gorgeous sunsets every night. Our host, Mark, was very responsive in communication regarding the home. We felt we could really stretch out as a family of five. Multiple excellent pubs in nearby Doolin, as well as tourist shopping, etc. Stay here to get up early or stay late to completely avoid the crowds at the Cliffs! We loved it.

A complete disaster

  • 1 of 5

We arrived to the home with no one there to greet us. After several e-mails and confirmation texts for them to greet us, there was still no one there. I had to go down to the house below where I finally tracked down the mother(after 45 minutes waiting for someone) who just happened to be leaving for town in her car. She let us in to a complete disaster. The kitchen had dirty dishes in the sink, and a wash cloth on the counter with crumbs all over the place. The dishwasher had not been emptied and the garbage cans were full of trash and spoiled food from the renters before us. There was a mop in the foyer and the washing room in the back had a broom and bucket in the middle of the floor. On the stairs was a dust pan and broom. The side door would not lock . When I asked about the condition of the house, the mother replied, “I cleaned this house before, I have more to worry about than a few crumbs on the counter!” She then went on to tell me that this is a house and that we should understand this condition. She also told us “Good luck finding another place in Doolin.” Unfortunately we could not find another place in Doolin for 7 at this late of a notice.

She took no ownership at all, and was agitated that we would even question her. She let me know that her son Peter was in Dublin. I think she forgot she is running a business. This is the first time I have ever run into a hostile owner and I stay in a lot of places. Shame on you Peter for leaving us high and dry with this unprofessional menace!

Peaceful with fantastic view

  • 4 of 5

Doolin is a great little town not far from Cliff cottage offering easy access to the Cliffs of Mohar region and the Burren. Quiet and comfortable with a really nice sunroom upstairs. McDermotts pub has a really great live Trad band playing most night. Best coffee at Stonewall cafe. Nothing opens before 10am though.

Great place and location

  • 4 of 5

Location and view were fantastic. Close to town of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher.

There were a couple minor things that we had issue with but communicated those with the owner and I am sure he will take care of them.
