About the property

No. 109, which we fondly call “Kelp me Rhonda,” is one of the few Family Suites at the Sea Gypsy. It is larger in square footage than most ground floor Sea Gypsy condos. It can sleep up to seven people between two queen-sized beds in two separate sleeping areas, plus a queen-sized hide-a-bed, and a twin-sized pullout love seat.

The convenient location of Kelp Me Rhonda cannot be understated. No. 109 sits on the ground floor, right next to the entrance of the Sea Gypsy’s indoor heated pool and sauna. It also has one of the closest beach access points in the building. Open your glass-sliding doors, walk a few feet south and take 12 short steps down onto the sandy beach.

This condo features a full kitchen with range oven, stovetop, fridge, microwave and lots of cookware to make your favorite recipes. There are two full bathrooms, extra closet space, an additional refrigerator in the master bedroom and hide-a-beds in both sleeping areas.

Kelp me Rhonda got a makeover in early 2015 with a new sofa-bed, furniture, artwork and a fresh coat of paint throughout the interior. Yet what guests really come for is some family time, unbeatable beach access and the breathtaking view out the window.

Location, Location, Comfortable & Family friendly

We enjoyed the opportunity to stay at the Sea Gypsy in 109 Kelp Me Rhonda. The room was nice and worked well for our family. We enjoyed being so close to the sand on one side and very close to the pool on the other. We stayed for 2 nights and would’ve stayed another night if our schedule allowed – we returned home on Friday to attend Good Friday church services.

It also sounds like we were fortunate to be able to stay and that some of the units were out of commission because of a storm and big wave that caused a lot of damage. We understand that there was some feverish work to put in a new floor before our stay and yes, the floor was new in 109 and we had no issues with the new flooring - it was quite nice!

Our Favorite Vacation Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to the Sea Gypsy for many years. We have enjoyed staying in many different rooms that come with their own theme. Kelp Me Rhonda is very spacious and comfortable. Clean and stocked with everything you would need in the kitchenette. We enjoy relaxing watching the sunsets while watching for whales right from our room and taking walks on the beach just steps away. Can't wait to come back.

Kelp Me Rhonda

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Sea Gypsy "Kelp Me Rhonda" was just what we had hoped for! Right on the beach so we walked the beach and explored the tidal pools and went swimming at the condo pool. We went down the road to Depoe Bay to do a little whale watching and actually saw a whale. The building is a bit older but clean and well kept and we would stay there again, comfortable, relaxing and just what we hoped for!

The management were wonderful in attending to the issue.

The place had a foul order that did not invite one to linger there. Once the management became aware of this they refunded our stay and this was very much appreciated. When they replace the rug it will be a great place to stay, right on the beach and easy access to Lincoln city.

Great access to huge beach - At an older building

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Sea Gypsy. The ability to step from the unit essentially right out onto the sand was cool…and to be able to watch our daughter who was out on the sand, from the edge of our unit, was great. The beach there is huge! The price was appropriate, as was the ability to book last minute (thanks to the manager for the quick response after hours the night beforehand).

On the other hand, the appearance of the entire Sea Gypsy complex gives one pause when pulling up…and every time I would walk out into the hallway. The really deteriorated numbers on the door were gross, and the siding/paint job made it look even older than it is. Same with the outside of the pool building and other common areas.

Inside of 109 is fine…though it could use a new carpet. The unit smelled a bit when we arrived, but leaving the sliding glass door open for some time solved that. The beds were comfortable, the TV service nice, the kitchen nice enough (though only room for one person).
