The Apartment is One of Three in an Early 1900's Arts & Craft Bungalow That Was Originally a Single Family Home But Has Been Converted to Three Completely Separate Apartments- Each With Its Own Private Entry. This Rental Apartment is Located at the Rear of the Property.

-WiFi Internet (updated to higher speed/stronger signal)/ SMART TV with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Streaming, Youtube, etc.

-full Kitchen - Refrigerator, Toaster Oven, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Kettle, Blender, Light Provisions Such As Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Some Spices

-variety of Books by North Carolina Writers As Well As a Number of Children/ Young Adult Books

-100% Cotton Towels and Sheets

-sound Sleep Machine W/ Speaker (plug in Capacity for Guest Ipods)

The Apartment Faces a Large Wooded Yard. for Guests With Children, There is a Wooden Playground Set and Small Play "cabin" Available for Use.

nb: Guests Are Asked Not to Use the Trampoline Or the Tree Fort Out of Concern for Safety.

The Parking (for One Vehicle):

The Apartment is Located at the Rear of the Home- a Nice Feature Providing Privacy to Guests. Upon Arrival- Facing the Home- There is a Driveway to the Right of the Residence That Leads to the Apartment. Descend the Driveway to Find the Apartment's Parking Pad Near the Apartment Door.

nb: Guests With Vehicles That Sit Low to the Ground Are Recommended to Park On the Street in Front of the Home and Walk the Driveway to the Apartment. the Driveway is Somewhat Steep and Best Suited to Vehicles With Medium to High Clearance.

During the academic year I am a high school teacher. In the summer I'm an explorer of places far and near: Alaska, Quebec, France, Costa Rica... and Asheville itself... as there is much to see and do right here in beautiful Western North Carolina.

In addition to teaching and traveling, I am a parent, writer, runner, appreciator of good food, film & music, and a fan of nice people everywhere. In fact, I'm so much a fan of nice people, as best I can I like to share with them the wonderful place I call home.

What makes this apartment unique

This Historic Arts & Craft Bungalow Was Originally a Single Family Home. a Previous Owner Divided the Home Into Three Independent Apartments. When I Purchased the Home in 2005, It Was in Need of Tender Loving Care- a Restoration Project! With the Help of Some Incredible People, the House Has Been Transformed in the Past Decade. It is a Joy to Help Bring Such a Beautiful Home Back to Life, an Even Greater Joy to Share This With Others.

the First Thing I Fell in Love With About the House Was Actually Its Large Wooded Lot. It is Extraordinary to Be Located in the Downtown Area Yet Feel As Though One is in a Forest. the Neighborhood Itself is Full of Historic Homes On Expansive Lots. the Tree-lined Avenues Are Lovely- a Pleasantly Shaded Place to Stroll and Take in the Early 20th Century Architecture. the Neighborhood is Quiet, Safe, and Convenient to the Heart of Downtown Asheville.

Nice condo close to everything in Asheville. We traveled with our kids ages 4 and 6 and they loved the condo. Condo was stocked with dishes, towels, coffee maker, nice organic soaps.

Close to downtown, comfy

Michele made sure we had everything we needed. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, clean. Close to downtown attractions, Biltmore, restaurants, shopping. Loads of info about things to do, eats, etc., on the the counter.

The guest's accomodations are in the lower level of the owners home. Worked fine for us.

Enjoyable Autumn visit to Asheville apartment in Montford

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay in the Montford apartment near downtown Asheville. The apartment was cute, clean, well stocked and very comfortable. It is perfect for a couple or family with two children. Michele is a wonderful host and provided us with detailed information about the apartment and the area, including restaurants, sites, hikes, etc. Michele provided some locally made food items and fresh flowers which was a nice touch! We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Asheville.

Sweet spot for families with kids!

This quiet, cozy apartment was a great retreat for me, my husband, and sons (7yo and 10yo). We loved being just a bike-ride away from downtown and having a private back yard area for our boys to play. Michele is a very kind and helpful host. She made our stay super special by providing a sample of local snacks and beverages, handmade soap, fresh flowers, and multiple activities for our kids to enjoy. She also provided a variety of pamphlets, publications, and maps for those of us not familiar with the area. The space was very clean with ample amenities and the beds were comfortable. We had no problem parking our minivan on the street in front of the house and locking our bikes up (when not in use) at the rear of the house. Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

Great location... walking/biking distance to great local eateries and downtown!

The owner, Michele, has done a great job of creating a little "bungalow" experience for her visiting travelers! The place is quaint, private, clean and secure. Her special attention to details on making our stay as stress-free and comfortable as possible was greatly appreciated. All the local goodies she stocked for us from coffee from Trader Joe's, to fresh local hummus & chips, to local micro-brew beer, and even soap from local shops were a welcome treat! She also has put together a "local things to do" notebook that is just about as good as what the local Chamber of Commerce would put out! When we have another trip to Asheville's downtown area, we'll be booking this little "hide-away" again! Thank you, Michele, for offering your little retreat for us! -John & Tish

This apartment has been approved by the City of Asheville for Homestay Permit. Permit # 15-16586.

Buncombe County is enforcing an 11% tax on short term rentals. This is the same tax required of hotels and bed & breakfast businesses. This tax is reflected in the billing for this property.

Refunds on less than 28 day rentals (less than monthly):
Full refund 5 days prior to the Check-in Date

Long Term: First month down payment, 30 day notice for lease termination

Note: The Long Term cancellation policy applies to all reservations of 28 nights or more.
Cleaning fees are always refunded if the guest did not check in.
A reservation may be canceled or changed due to extenuating circumstances with 30 days notification in advance of Check-In date of reservation.
Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted.
