I am from Western Canada originally. Grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan so the wide open spaces and the natural landscape provided a idyllic childhood on horseback. The natural landscape of the Berkshires is magnificent in all seasons ... breathtaking in Autumn. I am an International Interior Designer having had my own design firm since 1987. My home is rustic and modest and somewhat in sharp contrast to the Interiors I have created for my clients over the years. I love the simplicity of coming home after a day of Design Showrooms in NY city for my clients. I have completed jobs in the Hamptons, NY City, Upstate NY, Berkshires and in Paris France, and coming home always gives me a deep sense of tranquility and peace, I breath deeply when my car door opens and gaze up at the starlit sky. It is true wilderness, yet so close to cultured events and venues of an International scale. I find this area to be truly unique on all levels. Knowing all the back roads and places to go, I continue to marvel at the beauty wherever I go, it is simply breathtaking.
Lisè Gottwald purchased this barn in 1982
This is truly a special place. Every inch is beautifully appointed. Remote spectacular location. Owner very considerate, caring and helpful.
Lovely converted barn with many interesting architectural details. Quaint yet fully equipped. Lovely setting, quiet and peaceful -- yet close to all the Berkshires offers. 3 kids loved exploring the property and splashing in the stream, as well as watching shooting stars at night.
We stayed for a few days in July... VERY peaceful and relaxing spot surrounded by pastures, streams and woods. Lise was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Bash Bish falls and Mt. Everett are both within minutes for scenic hikes. My dog absolutely loved the property and explored every corner of it!
