One one two
A quirky cottage near island beach. Easy living with plenty of room. The beach is amazing, becare ti only walk on the wet sand as endangered beach laying birds are starting to nest.
KI STAY
Lovely location close to beautiful walking beach. Everything we needed but disappointed with level of cleanliness and booked 4 bed cabin for 4 people but beds only made up for 3 when we arrived. Very difficult to communicate with management agency did not return calls promptly.
Many thanks for your feedback Julie. I will certainly check the property re cleaning comments you made and yes we did arrange bedding for 2 couples, and you wanted 1 couple, 2 single, sorry about that. Our detailed instructions we provide which does advise that our office may not be open and hence the phone numbers provided for both the owner and the cleaner for support and assistance, which were readily available for you to make contact re extra bedding. I do hope you had a great time visiting various parts of the Island. Anne
Great Disappointment
Don't be fooled by other reviews and the glossy photos. This property failed to live up to any of our expectations. It was dirty, much of the furniture is in such poor condition it is not even suitable to donate to an op shop and it's not within a 250m walk of the beach. There are many OHS issues relating decks without handrails, they do not provide soap for the bathroom, one of the showers squirts water over the top of the screen and down the wall and the showers are quite mouldy in many places. Beware, they even tried to schedule routine maintenance during our stay. All in all this wasn't a pleasant experience.
Great house for families
We had a great stay at 112. Near enough the ferry yet nice and quiet and private. Very clean and spacious. Perfect for families.
A little more tought
My wife and I stayed 6 nights at 112 with our 2 dogs. The house is an ideal layout for couples or families but don't expect too much from the "sea view from the sand-dune".
For us it was the lack of attention to the little things that would have made the difference. I wouldn't expect everything but we did feel some of the following list could be easily attended to.
The usual attraction brochures were supplied but no tips about the house. We had to work out how the TV, HD receiver and DVD player worked with the 4 remotes, the air con / heater rsndomly stopped or blew cold air and it would have been nice to know you turn left and not right to get to the beach. The kitchen was well equipped with glasses and plates but had 2 old frying pans, no bowls for the microwave nor small bowls (for nuts, olives etc). We used magazines as place / drinks mats to protect furniture and wished there were a couple of side tables. The house was generally clean apart from the oven, which we chose not to use as a result. Both gas bottles for the aging BBQ were empty. The pantry and ensuite doors were in need of WD40 and the toilet door scraped along the floor. Finally the lack of side rails on front steps and rear deck is a real safety hazard, especially for young children.
We did enjoy our stay and appreciated somewhere that allowed dogs. However I suspect KI has better places to stay.
Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback, which is appreciated as we are now in the process of updating the check lists and support on how to use the equipment. We have added more dishes and replaced outdated equipment in the kitchen, and had discussions with the cleaner regarding the oven and gas bottles. A One One Two is located very close to the beach for walks and swimming, and whilst it doesn't have sea views from the house, the quiet surroundings interrupted by birdlife and having the gentle tamar wallabies, or an occasional echidna around does give our visitors a peaceful and relaxing house to enjoy while on Kangaroo Island. We were pleased we were able to offer a property which allowed you to bring your pets with you.
