Beautiful and Secluded
Me and both of my grown kids with children of their own all lost our homes to hurricane Harvey. The last five months have been very stressful for all of us. We wanted and needed to get away just for a few days. This was a great place for that.
My family of 13 stayed at the home in Guion for 5 nights. Let me tell you, you should arrive the first night of your stay in the daylight hours! We did not. We arrived around 8pm and our GPS was not working in this area. We went down the winding dirt river road for several miles until we got to the Williamson crossing mentioned on the map.
When we arrived we were in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains. The house was beautiful. It was in a very quiet area. We passed very few other homes.
The inside of the home was great. There was plenty of room for all of us. But one of the counted bedrooms is a futon bedroom off of the master and one of the counted bedrooms is the loft which had 3 beds. There are actually three private king sized bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The arrangement worked perfect for us because we were traveling with kids and grandkids. The house was very clean and aptly stocked. There was a major problem with lady bugs everywhere...in your bed, closets, luggage.
Outside, the house was surrounded by mountains with beautiful sunrise and sunsets. There was a nice fire pit to sit around but no chairs. It is a good drive into town so I would advise planning on cooking meals.
Some things that the owner should address are:
1) Instructions for the zoned heat/air controls. Some of us froze, some were too hot. Very difficult to figure out which thermostat controlled which room.
2) Map. I received a hand drawn map to get to the house. It was drawn correctly but it would help if some mileage were added and maybe add in some landmarks. We turned around a couple of times because we thought we had gone too far. GPS did not work here!
3) Address the lady bug infestation
4) Add folding sports chairs
4) Send contact information with managers name and number. We had to go to a neighbors home to get them to call for us when some pipes busted.
All in all I would rate our stay a 4 out of 5. The seclusion and lack of WiFi or cell service actually caused the kids and adults to be more creative and probably spend more time together talking and cooking. Some would consider this a drawback.
To summarize, we had a great time and the house was very nice and very quiet which is what we all needed!
Beautiful and breathtaking!
Amazing home with amazing views! The locals are nice and friendly! Many trails to hike and ride ATVs. The river is just feet away to do some fishing! Josh was great to work with and always had prompt replies! Our family had a great time!
We had a great time at the house. If you are looking for a beautiful and secluded place, this is it.
The home was clean and very nice.
Great space for fun with friends. The most beautiful views from the decks.
We had an awesome stay
Very beautiful !!!!!!
First off let me tell you that Josh is a really good guy, he goes over and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to make it there, he also communicates with you at all times. What can I say about the place ? The pictures you see on this site does no justice to the cabin and the property, we got there and we were at awe with everything. When we opened the door to the cabin you heard nothing but "oh my God!!", its gorgeous !!! Then you go to the back patio and you see nothing but a huge river and mountains !!! Soooo beautiful !!!. I heard a comment that was left before that the kitchen didn't have a lot of things, I don't know what they were talking about, the kitchen had everything it needed plus more !! It had absolutely everything we needed and still had a lot of other stuff. Rooms are huge !! Especially the living room. We took so many breath taking pictures. There are so many things to do in that property that you will never feel bored, I wish we would of stayed another day or two. All I can say is that you will love this property and strongly suggest that you come here if you are looking to have an amazing time with breath taking views.
