About Martin and Carol

We were both born and raised in Michigan. Our best memories are our summers with our family and friends at our Brulee Point home in the beautiful Upper Peninsula.

Martin and Carol purchased this house in 1999

Why Martin and Carol chose Upper Peninsula Michigan

We renovated a seasonal 1950's cottage into Brulee Point Lodge to accommodate our lifestyle "The more the merrier". We both have large families and wanted room for us all to gather, slow down, relax, appreciate nature, and build memories with friends and family - that's what it's all about.

We would love nothing more than for you to stay and enjoy yourself so much that you come back :)

What makes this house unique

Location. Nestled among the cedar trees down by the lake, Brulee Point Lodge offers majestic sunrises overlooking Hessel Bay and the West Entrance of the Les Cheneaux Island chain. Tranquil retreat with protected deep water frontage and permanent dock. Many sites to see in the area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful stay at your house in Hessel.

Thank you for making it available for us to enjoy. I really appreciate the fragrance free items. We had so much fun kayaking, playing in the sand, and grilling steaks. It was such a relief to see the great selection of life jackets as we forgot to bring them for our kids.

We are planning to eventually start building a house on the water up there. I am taking notes of the many thoughtful design features. Looking forward to returning in August and gathering more ideas and playing!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed your home! Everything we could have possibly needed was available to us and the owners were always readily available to answer any questions. The house is beautiful, well maintained, and easily slept all 15 of us. There was plenty to do with boardgames, ping pong, and billiards for rainy days, and kayaks & paddle boats for sunny ones. There were plenty of life jackets and beach toys for our little kids, too. Thanks for a wonderful way to celebrate our parents' 50th Anniversary!

The property is beautiful. The water, the view, the house are all amazing.

  • 5 of 5

The owners thought of EVERYTHING. All 15 of us enjoyed our stay. A couple of the little boys cried because they had to leave. I'd go back tomorrow.

Great family fun!

  • 5 of 5

This place had it all! Kayaks, yard games, beautiful home inside and out. Close to mackinaw island and short drive to the falls. We especially enjoyed the outdoor screened in room with fireplace. We had morning coffee in there and played some cards on the chillier days. Owners were fantastic! Always available with any questions. Super place! Would highly recommend
